Consulting Positions: Senior Vice President

Responsibilities
The Senior Vice President is responsible for overseeing the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously and is an integral member of the FCG management team. Core responsibilities for the Senior Vice President include:

Client Delivery

  • Developing a well balanced book of business across all of the Fidelity companies in coordination with the leadership team
  • Scoping and defining project work with senior leaders from Fidelity's business units
  • Developing and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with key clients
  • Overseeing the delivery of high-impact consulting projects and ensuring high quality
  • Developing client and stakeholder communication & management strategy
  • Providing executive advice/coaching to business partners

Practice Management

  • Setting the strategic direction of FCG as a member of the management team
  • Overseeing the creation and evolution of key practice management programs and approaches
  • Creating a positive work environment that reflects Fidelity's values of integrity, excellence, and teamwork
  • Providing coaching, mentoring, and career guidance to staff
  • Managing the professional development of direct reports - typically 7-10 staff (Vice Presidents, Directors, Management Consultants, Business Analysts)
  • Identification of business unit needs and priorities

Professional Development

  • Developing knowledge and skills necessary to assume additional responsibilities within other parts of Fidelity
  • Maintenance of executive relationships

Required Skills and Qualifications
We seek individuals with a proven ability to develop, scope, and oversee complex projects that deliver meaningful business results. These individuals should also have a long-term career objective of being a senior executive at a financial services firm.
Specific skills that we seek include:

  • Ability to understand complex business problems and develop practical approaches for solving them
  • Program, project and team management, specifically including strategy development, new product evaluation, and business transformation
  • Ability to turn ideas into business results through effective communication, motivation and implementation techniques
  • Relationship management skills including the ability to develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with senior executives
  • Knowledge of financial services - especially in those areas where Fidelity currently competes
  • Ability to influence senior management, through both personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of presentations
  • High leadership potential
  • People development and coaching

Education/Experience
We seek individuals with 7-10 years of post-MBA experience - preferably including some experience at a large, established consulting firm. Candidates should have a demonstrated track record of success in financial services and a proven ability to balance superior strategic thinking with practical implementation skills; they will value results over process. Flexibility and the skill to both lead and contribute to teams are musts. An MBA degree or equivalent is required.
