Consulting Positions: Management Consultant
Consulting professionals can find the opportunity to advise Fidelity's senior leadership through a position with Fidelity Consulting Group (FCG). FCG recruits MBA grads for the position of Management Consultant.
The Management Consultant works as an integral member of a 2-5 person project team. Responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day management of the tasks related to individual work streams
- Directing and executing various analyses, including market analysis, internal capability assessment, competitor intelligence, customer research, product assessment, and financial analysis/modeling
- Conducting secondary research to understand industry trends, competitors, customers, regulatory changes, or technology changes
- Developing insights and conclusions from analysis and research
- Preparing and assisting with presentations to senior executives
- Working closely with business unit personnel to implement recommendations
- Developing knowledge and skills necessary to assume additional responsibilities within FCG or other parts of Fidelity
Required Skills and Qualifications:
We seek individuals who have a track record of success in an analytical setting (e.g., strategy consulting, product management) and a long-term career interest in becoming a senior manager in a financial services firm.
Specific skills we seek include:
- Task and/or project management in the areas of strategy development, new product/service evaluation, market/opportunity assessment , or business transformation
- Primary and secondary research, including the synthesis of findings to develop practical, actionable recommendations
- Ability to analyze and structure key components of a business model
- Ability to influence middle to senior management, through both personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of presentations
- Relationship building with peers and senior management in a variety of capacities
- Strong conceptual skills tempered by a bottom-line business orientation
- Knowledge of and intellectual curiosity about the financial services industry
- Attention to detail; strong sense of logic; accountability for results
Education/Experience:
The majority of candidates come from a strategy consulting background; however, we actively encourage applicants with exceptional problem solving and communication skills from other backgrounds to apply. Pre-requisites also include demonstrated interest or experience in the financial services industry and an MBA degree or equivalent.
Recruiting Process:

- FCG will review resumes and invite candidates for interviews
- First round of interviews will be on campus and consist of both behavioral and case interviews
- Second round of interviews will be in Fidelity's offices and will be a mix of behavioral and case interviews.
