Consulting Position: Business Analyst

Consulting professionals can find the opportunity to advise Fidelity's senior leadership through a position with Fidelity Consulting Group(FCG). FCG recruits recent grads for the position of Business Analyst.

The Business Analyst works as an integral member of a 2-5 person project team. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting:
  • Market analysis: identifying factors driving growth or change in industry structure
  • Competitor analysis: profiling competitors' offerings and strategies
  • Customer analysis: identifying segments, buying behavior and customer value
  • Financial analysis: analyzing and modeling investment, projected cash flow, value of a business or product, cost structure; analyzing financial statements
  • Process analysis: mapping processes and identifying metrics that drive performance
  • Conducting secondary research on industry trends, competitors, customers, regulatory changes, technology changes using a variety of sources in resourceful ways
  • Planning and executing primary market research efforts, including surveys and focus groups, to understand customer needs and refine new business concepts
  • Working closely with business unit personnel to analyze business transformation opportunities and identify implications for business models
  • Interacting with Fidelity personnel at various levels, gathering data and input
  • Participating in the development of insights and conclusions from analyses
  • Creating new strategies, products and services, working closely with business unit personnel
  • Participating in the preparation and delivery of presentations to clients
  • After 2-3 successful years, Business Analysts often consider positions elsewhere in Fidelity or attend top-tier graduate schools

Education/Experience
The position requires a Bachelor's degree from a top-tier undergraduate institution. Meaningful experience in management consulting, investment banking, venture capital or new product development (or equivalent) is a plus. Experience within the financial services industry is also valued.

Location
FCG is located in Boston, MA. However, client engagements may require occasional travel to Fidelity locations outside the Boston area.
