
Fidelity Consulting Group (FCG)
Fidelity Consulting Group (FCG) is 60 person consulting group within Fidelity Investments. The group's mission is to partner with senior Fidelity leadership teams (e.g. Office of the Chairman, Management Committee, Business Unit Presidents) as a trusted advisor to solve their most critical and strategic business issues. The primary areas of focus for the consulting practice are strategy development and business transformation. Typical engagements involve identifying and launching growth initiatives, managing or facilitating cross-enterprise initiatives, or addressing difficult operational issues. In addition to its core mission of providing consulting services, FCG develops strong leadership talent to fill critical management positions across the firm.
There are two primary roles within FCG – business analyst and management consultant.
Business AnalystBusiness analysts play a critical role in the planning and execution of research and analysis, as well as in the formulation and delivery of recommendations. They are integral contributors of 2-7 member project teams and are involved throughout the consulting process. For this role, we are looking for individuals with strong analytical and communication skills with a bachelor’s degree from a top-tier undergraduate institution.
Education and Experience
Candidates must be seniors graduating and available to work within the next year.

Management Consultant
Management consultants are post-MBA professionals with prior consulting or similar experience and an enthusiasm for the financial services industry. Consultants manage a team of business analysts to facilitate primary and secondary research, develop analysis such as competitor landscaping, customer segmentation and market trends, and build and present recommendations to senior lead
The Fidelity Consulting Group drives business results through proven methodologies, financial services expertise and Fidelity enterprise expertise. The group is a corporate function supporting all business units. It operates similarly to a niche consulting firm whereby its services are engaged by a client identifying a need outside of their subject matter expertise. With FCG, the need can arise from one of the multiple businesses within Fidelity and can take shape in many different ways.
Education and Experience
Candidates require an MBA degree or equivalent, and hsould have a track record of success in ananalytical setting
(e.g. strategy consulting or product management) and a long-term career interest in becoming a senior manager in a financial services firm.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Task and/or project management in the areas of strategy development, new product/service evaluation, market/opportunity assessment, and/or business transformation
- Primary and secondary research, including the synthesis of findings to develop practical, actionable recommendations
- Ability to analyze and structure key components of a business model
- Ability to influence middle to senior management, through both personal interactions as well as the creation and delivery of presentations
- Comfort with ambiguity
- A collaborative, unselfish, team-oriented problem solving approach
- Strong conceptual skills tempered by a
bottom-line business orientation



The Fidelity Consulting Group drives business results through proven methodologies, financial services expertise and Fidelity enterprise expertise. The group is a corporate function supporting all business units. It operates similarly to a niche consulting firm whereby its services are engaged by a client identifying a need outside of their subject matter expertise. With FCG, the need can arise from one of the multiple businesses within Fidelity and can take shape in many different ways.
FCG has the potential to work with up to 40 different business units and manages multiple types of projects. The majority of the work is strategy development, but projects may be specialized and entail:
- Redesign work
- Organizational assessment
- Project management
- Business development and planning
- Primary and secondary research
- Operations assessment
- Financial analysis/budget assessment
- Implementation
