Equity Research Associate Program

Equity Research Associates join a 3-year program where they are assigned a group of stocks in a special industry and utilize both internal and utilize both internal and external resources to analyze those companies. They meet with corporate management teams, industry experts, Wall Street analysts, and experienced colleagues to develop investment recommendations that they communicate to Fidelity’s Portfolio Managers.

Fidelity provides a comprehensive training program as well as ongoing instruction to emphasize the fundamental investing skills. After completing the program, Associates who have demonstrated consistent and exceptional performance have historically been promoted to Analyst or have attended top business schools.

Fixed Income Research Associate Program

Fixed Income Research Associates receive structured training in the foundational skills needed to support Fidelity’s bond and money market process. Associates will be assigned to a research team focused on municipal, financial, industrial, or macro research. They are trained to analyze the credit quality of individual issuers as well as the structural features of securities in the bond and money markets. They work with expert analysts to learn how to build financial models and develop credit opinions and investment recommendations.

Participation in this program may last up to 4 years. Associates will be provided an opportunity to build an outstanding skillset, positioning them for more senior roles within Fidelity and the Asset Management industry, or to attend top graduate schools.

Strategic Advisers Fundamental Research Associate Program

Strategic Advisers (SAI) is a registered investment advisor and wholly owned subsidiary of Fidelity that provides investment management services to clients through Fidelity’s retail and distribution channels. The SAI Fundamental Research team actively researches a broad universe of investment strategies including mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and ETFs in which we invest on behalf of our clients.

Research Associates support the investment process and are trained with foundational skills to launch successful careers in investing. They are placed in a role on a team supporting research in one of the following asset classes: US Equity, International Equity, Alternatives or Fixed Income. They are trained to creatively evaluate and recommend investment managers for our portfolios, through the analysis of performance, quantitative risk factors, portfolio characteristics, and underlying holdings.

Participation in the Research Associate program might last up to 4 years. Associates who demonstrate excellent performance have historically been promoted to the Analyst position or have gone to attend top business schools.

Quantitative Investment Rotational Program

Fidelity’s Quantitative Investment Rotational Program is designed to provide talented and highly motivated graduates with firsthand experience in quantitative research and data analytics within our asset management divisions. This program seeks to accelerate your development through structured rotational assignments, on-the-job learning, and supplemental training.

This program is composed of four 6-month rotations across a range of asset classes and groups, including Equity, Fixed Income, and Asset Allocation. In addition to on-the-job experience, participants receive structured mentorship, networking, development opportunities, and formalized training.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will have the opportunity to be placed in a permanent position at Fidelity based on your interests and business needs.

Investment Research Internships

Looking for a unique opportunity to obtain hands-on experience with fundamental analysis and the investment research process? Fidelity’s Investment Research Internships give interns the chance to obtain the core research skills needed to begin a successful and lucrative career in investment management.

Investment Research Interns support investment decisions by building financial models, completing fundamental analysis, and conducting proprietary research. Diverse Investors Student Experience

Diverse Investors Student Experience (DISE) is a paid internship exclusively for rising college juniors to develop the critical skills needed for a successful career in the Asset Management industry. Participants in this program are part of a cohort bringing their unique perspectives to Fidelity’s Asset Management division. DISE introduces interns to Equity, Fixed Income, High Income & Alternatives, Strategic Advisers, and Asset Allocation, and more through:

-Education: lectures and discussions led by Fidelity speakers and experienced training professionals

-Experience: projects designed to transfer learned skills and knowledge into the Fidelity workplace

-Exposure: mentorship, networking events, and site visits designed to build relationships and introduce Fidelity perspectives
