Job Description:

The ECS Software Engineering team is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer. This role involves developing high-performance, secure, and scalable microservice-based applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern software engineering best practices and experience in Agile software delivery.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining quality software components for core and critical applications used throughout the organization. Additionally, you will help define, implement, and advance development practices, standards, and strategies, contributing to the modern engineering practice across our platforms and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software components for core applications.
  • Ensure the performance, security, and scalability of microservice-based applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, standards, and strategies.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery.
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Work closely with product owners, technical leads, and architects to influence technical improvements.
  • Investigate and share innovative practices with team members.

Required Expertise:

  • Passion for technology and commitment to excellence.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years commercial development experience.
  • Strong experience in Java development, particularly with Spring and Spring Boot.
  • Proficiency in developing RESTful backend services.
  • Demonstrable experience developing with modern frontend frameworks, preferably Angular but experience with other similar frontend frameworks such as React will also be considered
  • Familiarity with microservices architectures and cloud-native Kubernetes environments (Azure experience is a plus).
  • Expertise in writing unit and integration tests using frameworks like Playwright, Jasmine, Karma, and Cucumber.
  • Experience working in a CI/CD environment with tools like Git SCM, Jenkins, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices and experience delivering software in an Agile environment.
