Senior Systems Engineer

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Systems Analyst to join our team in the Fidelity Wealth organisation. You will work as part of a team developing on the Baskets Portfolio application platform, A self-directed portfolio offering that allows customers to build and manage a portfolio (Basket) of stocks and ETFs.
Our development teams are highly collaborative and encourage creativity, innovation, and excellence. Your experience, skills, and input will be critical to our shared success.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in working on large software projects in the areas of requirements gathering and systems analysis and design.
- Experience in writing user stories & working with business partners to elicit requirements.
- Knowledge of or experience in working on applications with a range of software technologies (web, middle tier, database) and/or service-oriented architecture is a plus.
- Experience in using tools such as JIRA and JIRA Align, with a deep understanding of JIRA Scrum Boards.
- Experience with logical data modelling and relational database design a benefit.
- Experience of working within an agile development environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with multiple teams in the organization.
- Financial Services industry experience preferred but not essential.

We seek a Senior Systems Analyst who is versatile, always eager to tackle new problems and continue to push technology forward. This position is intended for an individual contributor who has strong engagement and the ability to work effectively in a multi-functional agile team.

- You can run effective requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders, using a variety of methods to elicit and understand needs e.g. process flows, user journey mapping
- You can conceptualize and capture a problem or feature need and leverage different methods to convey the requirement to engineers and business partners e.g. user stories, process flows
- Strong understanding of principles of good software design and can work with engineers and architects to craft an optimal solution approach
- Strong attention-to-detail and work effectively with developers, business analysts, and technologists as part of an agile team
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at a given time
- Collaborative in your approach, actively contributing to how work gets completed, and you thrive in a team environment
- Strong facilitation skills with ability to understand and help address challenges and roadblocks
- Excellent written/verbal communication, influencing and people-interaction skills
- You have a proven ability to work efficiently in a complex matrixed organization

- By understanding the business needs and being the primary link to the development team, you will help to deliver strategic software for the enterprise
- You will work with technology and business partners to understand project objectives, timelines, use cases and requirements
- Our cross functional team need you to translate business requirements for features and minor enhancements into user stories
- You will work closely with the developers to ensure that all systems design requirements are understood
- You will build a deep understanding of the application domain
