The Purpose of This Role

As a Principal Cloud Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of multi cloud-based API Platform that drive our organization's technological and digital advancement. Your expertise will be pivotal in implementing scalable, secure, and efficient API Platform, ensuring seamless experience to our users and customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and optimize cloud strategies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Your role will also involve mentoring and guiding junior engineers, promoting best practices, and staying abreast of emerging technologies to maintain our competitive edge.

As a Principal Cloud Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing the API platform to meet the evolving needs of the business. Your contributions will:

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical / Behavioral

  • Cloud Expertise: Proficient in AWS and its various services such as EKS, S3, DynamoDB, EC2, Route 53, Lambda, etc.

  • Kubernetes Expertise: Experienced in designing scalable and robust systems on Kubernetes, preferably EKS.

  • Programming Skills: Expert in at least one programming language, preferably Java or Go.

  • DevOps Knowledge: Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and other DevOps practices.

  • Solution Development: Capable of independently building solutions and taking them to production with minimal guidance.

  • API Development: Knowledgeable in API development, lifecycle management, and gateways like APIGEE or Envoy.

  • Mentorship: Able to guide and mentor junior engineers effectively.

  • REST API Creation: Skilled in building secure REST APIs from scratch, using industry best practices like OpenID, OAuth2.0, SSL, etc.

  • Debugging Skills: Excellent at identifying and resolving issues in both code and infrastructure.

  • System Design: Expert in designing Tier 0 systems and platforms, participating in system architecture.

  • Open Source Understanding: Strong grasp of the open-source ecosystem.

  • Team Collaboration: A good team player with the ability to work across functional teams.

The Skills that are Good To Have for this role

  • Cloud Certifications.

  • Building GraphQL APIs.

  • Terraform/OpenTofu.

  • Envoy knowledge.
