Job Title : PRINCIPAL - QUALITY ENGINEERING

This role, as part of the WI QA group, will be critical in supporting development of our capabilities relative to automation including: supporting execution of our automation road map, working with team members to develop infrastructure and tools required across multiple technology stacks, working within guidelines and offering suggestions relative to governance procedures and overall development standards.

The Purpose of This Role

The primary objective of the WI QA team is to enable the WI business in the US, while working with IT business partners in the US in a well-integrated way. Over the past 10 years the team has developed technical expertise on various functions within each business line of Workplace investments, across strategic new products and within data engineering. We strive to achieve technical excellence in each of these functions and help the WI business accomplish its long-term objectives. This role focuses on the development of Automation Infrastructure in support of business needs and the technology evolution to a DevOps culture.

The Value You Deliver

  • Translate business and systems requirements into technical requirements for automation and software tools & framework.
  • Design, develop, document, and maintain automated tests and software tools.
  • Actively contributing in the day-to-day planning, design, execution, and reporting of automation metrics and KPI’s
  • Adhere to software engineering principles in development of automation software and develop software to test software and keeping zero tech debt with sonar quality gate.
  • Understand and apply test driven/behavior driven design concepts to test and debug automated solutions and software utilities developed by self and others.
  • Do white box testing where required
  • Deliver accurate and maintainable code for automated test suite and software utilities.
  • Collaborate with other technical resources to:
  • Suggest improvements for processes, best practices, and standards.
  • Find opportunities to improve maintainability of automation platform.

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical / Behavioral

  • Strong hands-on experience in building automation test frameworks, test suites from scratch, maintain and scale using – Java, TypeScript, Cucumber, REST Assured, Karate
  • Candidate should have a good understanding of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution, and planning
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket, Udeploy, Jenkins, Concourse)
  • You should have good analytical skills and high ability to learn and adapt to new processes
  • Good understanding of Automation Frameworks – Behavior / Data / Key word Driven, Hybrid
  • You should be able to optimally debug and test own automation code, software code
  • You should have good Written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Your ability to work optimally with both business customers and project team members will be a strong factor that will be considered
  • Good interpersonal, relationship management and facilitation skills

  • Hands on experience in setting up automation frameworks from scratch & scale
  • Hands on experience on REST Assured

The primary objective of the Workplace Solutions team is to enable the WI business in the US, while working with IT business partners in the US in a well-integrated way. WI comprises five business lines - Defined Contributions, Defined Benefits, Stock Plan Services and Health Care Group and Health Savings Account. Over the past 10 years the WS team has developed technical expertise on various functions within each business line of Workplace investments, across strategic new products and within data engineering.

The Expertise we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of Hands-on Testing experience, which includes any of the following:
  • 5+ year using Java/Typescript & Cucumber preferred
  • 5+ years of automation scripting experience (not record and playback)
  • 5+ years of experience in API / Webservices testing using REST Assured
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
  • Java / AWS / Azure certification will be a plus
  • Knowledge of Performance testing or hands on experience will be a plus
