Are you a UX Designer who is enthusiastic about creating conversational experiences using chat, voice and other natural language-based technology to connect with customers and deliver personalized solutions supporting their financial needs? Fidelity Investments is looking for a Principal User Experience Designer to work on a team that is redefining the financial services industry by changing the way we work and putting the customer first! It’s a fast-paced environment where decisions are data-focused, collaborative, and iterative! 

 

The Team 

This role supports the Cognitive Computing Platform and Chapter, a group building a smarter Fidelity with innovative personalized experiences, capabilities of conversational AI, and machine learning across digital channels. We develop and support a centralized platform to drive digital engagement and cohesiveness as One Fidelity. This role also supports Fidelity’s User Experience Design team, a group that delivers simple and accessible digital experiences to its customers. 

  

The Expertise You Have 

  • Relevant experience as a conversation designer, experience designer, NLP designer, information architect, or a similar role 

  • The ability to understand customer and client needs, motivations, and behaviors and translate them into concepts, journeys, and design deliverables to lead cross-enterprise vision 

  • Practical experience facilitating customer and user sessions, contextual research, and usability tests 

  • Proven ability to deliver high quality experiences in a collaborative environment 

  • Experience with Agile methodology and tools delivering value in digital products 

  • Digital experiences we can review online are required

  • An unwavering curiosity to ask why and dig deeper to understand the root causes of ambiguous customer problems 

  • Creating and telling cohesive stories about our users, proposed solutions, and related outcomes 

  • You have an array of design skills, includes visual, conversational, information architecture, prototyping, strategic design methods (such as design thinking), user research, or writing 

  • Familiarity with the value of design systems, understanding reuse and scale, and knowing when to contribute to make them better 

  • Distilling qualitative and quantitative feedback to unearth recurring themes and promote data-driven design decisions 

  • Experience creating design artifacts such as (but not limited to), wireframes, user flows, user journey maps, design comps, prototypes 

  • A solid foundation and knowledge of web and mobile technology and ability to design across all communication channels. 

  • Comfortable working both independently and with a team to build positive relationships with design, technology and business partners 

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; equally at ease speaking with development teams or executives when articulating and advocating design concepts and rationale 

  •  Ability to plan and scope work, manage multiple related workstreams, set priorities and manage expectations

  • Leading design activities and developing scenarios, user flows, screen designs, and interaction models 

  • Helping develop UX guidelines and standards to meet the strategic goals of the product
