Job Description:

Fidelity Digital Assets, a Fidelity Investments Company, is developing a full-service enterprise-grade platform for storing, trading and servicing digital assets, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be an integral part of the API Solutions team. You’ll get the opportunity to develop your skills, collaborate across Fidelity teams, interact with API customers and continue to learn in a lively, collaborative, iterative, and rapidly changing environment. This is a hands-on role where you will maintain B2B external APIs and develop Software Development Kits (SDKs). As a senior technical member of your team, you will guide junior engineers and help develop their technical skills.
 

The Team
 

The team is responsible for maintaining APIs and developing SDKs to support transfer of digital assets, wires and trades. We are also responsible for the API gateway configuration and CI/CD process.
 

The Expertise You Have

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required

  • Experienced with core Java technologies and frameworks like Spring Boot

  • Proficient in SQL with proven understanding of database technologies such as PostgreSQL

  • Experience developing REST APIs for external clients

  • Experience crafting user documentation for APIs

  • An understanding of microservice architecture and twelve factor app patterns

  • Experience building reliable software that can withstand unreliable environments

  • Experience crafting automated Unit and integration tests using JUnit

  • Experience building and deploying applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins

  • Prior experience with AWS services and Docker containers is a plus

  • Hardworking and committed to learning new tools and develop with the latest technologies and frameworks

  • Work well in a small agile team having a strong focus on user requirements

  • Proven analytical, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks at a given time

  • Adopt and can chip in to team engineering practices such as code and design reviews, the development environment, and build and deployment pipelines

  • You have a strong interpersonal skill and can communicate effectively with both customers and fellow engineers

  • Writing implementation stories in Jira based on requirements and delivering solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations

  • Delivering high-quality code, with high test coverage, following Fidelity's standards methodologies

  • Providing outstanding support, including on-call support when necessary

  • Learning our APIs in depth and being comfortable with answering product capabilities on the fly

  • Supplying to the team’s on-call rotation

  • Mentoring other junior software engineers

Job Description:

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be an integral part of the API Solutions team.
