Job Description:

As a senior art director for social media, you believe in the value of everyday interaction between brands and customers. Together with writers and other partners, you craft and develop concepts that engage and delight a variety of audiences, from “followers” to future prospects. You are a visual problem solver, and able to guide others with feedback and ideas to make their work better. But most meaningfully you are a hands-on design specialist, able to dig in and pitch in on projects large and small. All while generating multiple ideas in pursuit of the ones that work best.

Your passion for social media, both personally and professionally, is obvious and infectious. All while understanding that what works on TikTok might not be appropriate for Instagram. And while you’re not afraid of testing boundaries, you understand the realities of brand risk and the importance of brand reputation.

As a member of a dynamic and dedicated team of social media specialists and enthusiasts at Fidelity, you will design and direct concepts at the intersection of customer interest and brand purpose. Concepts that are “uniquely social” and others that work in concert with brand campaigns across multiple channels. Some concepts that are real-time and reactionary, and other more planned creative executions with sophisticated production needs. Visually arresting designs & concepts will make people stop scrolling and pay attention.

You will tap into trends, both cultural and financial, to generate likes, follows, and dialog. You have your own ideas, but value the partnership others’ bring. And you will engage enthusiasts and influencers, while also developing original, engaging concepts for both organic and paid posts and executions.

Simply put – you will make things people enjoy. Things that make them think. And things that make them stop and share. Together with a team of people who all want to make cool stuff.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 5-plus years designing social media executions and campaigns at an agency or in-house for major brand(s)

  • BFA in Graphic Design, Advertising or similar experience

  • Expertise in video, digital, and animated executions, and proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

  • Intimate knowledge of social media requirements and the tools for delivering for each platform

  • An active user of multiple social media platforms personally

  • Experience designing for platforms including, but not limited to: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Pintrest

  • Interest in – and knowledge of – emerging cultural trends

  • A daily understanding of what’s trending and why

  • An understanding of the diverse audiences on social, and the unique needs of those audiences

  • Confidence to present ideas (including the crazy ones) to your peers and senior leaders

  • An ability to have fun while working hard in a fast paced, agile environment

Portfolio required for consideration. Financial Services experience considered but not required.
