Fidelity Cares®

At Fidelity, we believe that long-term change and success comes through collaboration, listening and adapting to the needs of communities. We value supporting the financial health of communities by creating access and opportunities for underserved students that encourage saving for the future, investing, and building generational wealth.  Our work in helping to prepare the next generation for financial wellness incorporates Financial Education, Skill-Based Volunteering and Support to Nonprofit Organizations. We do this because we believe in a future where everyone is empowered to shape their financial futures and improve their lives.

Through Fidelity Cares®, we create opportunities for our associates to volunteer in communities where Fidelity has a presence. But we don’t stop there. We partner with nonprofits like the Points of Light, Common Impact, the Council for Economic Education and Jump$tart Coalition to create company-wide events impacting thousands each year.  Since 2015, through the volunteer efforts of our associates and our nonprofit partners, more than half a million students in grades K-12, and nearly 5K educators have been impacted by these healthy money habits.

Fidelity Charitable®

In 1991, we created Fidelity Charitable as an independent 501(c)(3) public charity and the first national donor-advised fund program. As the nation’s top grantmaker, they have helped donors maximize their generosity, supporting more than 357,000 nonprofit organizations with over $61 billion in grants since inception from their donor-advised fund, called the Giving Account, distributing a record $10.3 billion to charities in 2021 alone. The Giving Account streamlines the process of strategic giving for a broad range of donors, allowing them to contribute many types of assets and plan their giving more systematically. The mission of the organization is to grow the American tradition of philanthropy by providing programs that make charitable giving accessible, simple, and effective.

Sustainability is a huge part of being a good neighbor. At Fidelity, what started as a program to reduce our resource consumption has evolved to a more holistic approach to securing a more sustainable future.

Continuing to learn and improve.

Our Environmental Sustainability Office focuses on initiatives to minimize consumption, manage resources, and improve its Environmental Management System to enhance environmental performance.

Landfill waste is down 38% since 2007. Paper usage is 51% lower. Energy consumption has decreased by 35%. And we’ve reduced water usage by 30%.

Many of our sites now feature innovative green roofs, wildlife gardens, LED lighting, electric vehicle charging, composting, chemical-free cleaning and LEED-certification.
