Job Title: Principal - Software Engineering - Database Developer

Build and maintain a trading platform to support Asset Management’s needs. If you have a passion for working with data using multiple new technologies on the cloud, this might be the right opportunity for you!

The Purpose of Your Role

The Principal Software Engineer will be working as part of a core team building and maintain the trading platform for Asset Management. This will involve working on evaluating tools for data in the cloud, building data ingestion pipelines, creating a framework for self-service data acquisition, building data quality processes.

The Value You Deliver

This is purely hands on role where you need to engage in developing solutions in the latest technologies, lead the code reviews and coding standards for newer projects. You work closely with Architects and also help in mentoring the team in adapting the latest technologies.

Responsibilities of the role includes

  • Hands on, able to act as a bridge between architecture principles and designs along with intent to collaborate to make things happen.

  • Actively participate in planning, definition, design & integration of IT Product/Application releases working with other technical leads/ architects as required to assure consistency of product development.

  • Actively participate in product release cycle, daily stand up as well as helping team with tactical activities like code review, design optimization etc.

  • Lead and present a technical solution (e.g. POC) and the underlying business requirements that drove its development;

  • Evaluate and recommend technology and frameworks for flexibility, long-term viability, and time to market

  • Regularly provides guidance, training and mentoring to enable other team members to meet/go above and beyond

  • Building quality solutions that align with the technology blueprint and standard methodologies to solve business problems by driving design, development and ongoing support.

  • You have good programming skills (Oracle SQL and PL/SQL)

  • You know Amazon Web Services-AWS.

  • You enjoy working on different technologies to solve business problems

  • You are able to readily adapt to changing requirements and priorities

  • You enjoy learning new technologies, data analysis, identifying data patterns and trends

  • You can independently figure out technical challenges, identify options and come up with innovative solutions

  • You can do Analysis, Design, Estimation and Development of the database components

  • You have Strong communication skills to manage various partners across the Globe

The Skills that is good to have for this role

  • You know Job Scheduling Technologies like Autosys or Crontab

  • You have worked in Agile methodologies or iterative development processes

  • You have experience in test driven development

  • You have ability to take ownership

  • You have excellent collaboration and Interpersonal skills

  • You have Positive outlook, being a mentor, teammate and effective contributor

  • You are Self-Motivated and resourceful. Confident and able to work alone as effectively as in a team
