Job Title : Lead Business Analyst

Fidelity Health Operations Projects and New Services group supports our business partners in the US in servicing corporate / institutional customers in health benefits administration. This involves onboarding new customers onto the Fidelity platform, migrating clients from legacy to new platform and supporting their on-going record-keeping needs which involves annual enrollment, corporate actions, enhancements and fixes. This is done through a series of processes, both technical and non-technical, that help a customer to use our products and services. Multiple agile teams are responsible for different aspects of the projects delivered under the program. This is a global and highly integrated and complex environment.

The Purpose of this role


The FHO Lead Business Analyst will be responsible for planning, coordinating, leading all aspects of testing across FHO Projects and Implementations team and ensure that the final product meets the required standard of quality. You will collaborate with configuration experts, Business analysts and other stakeholders to identify testing requirements and ensure timely and efficient execution.

The lead in this space must possess a strong ability to multi-task while guiding and directing testing efforts. The candidate must possess a strong QA background with a knowledge of the testing life cycle and various aspects of QA, preferably in Health & Welfare or Healthcare industries.

The Expertise and Skills that are Key to This Role:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5-8 years of experience in QA with minimum 2 years in lead or senior role

  • Experience in test management tools (e.g.: Jira), automation tools (e.g.: selenium, cypress) and bug tracking systems

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, Software Testing Principles and best practices

  • Relevant Training and/or certifications such as ISTQB can demonstrate your experience in software testing is preferable.

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong Leadership and Facilitation Skills

  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve complex technical problems related to testing and quality assurance.

  • An eye for detail with a strong testing mindset

The following functions are the responsibility of the FHO Lead Business Analyst:

  • Requirement analysis, Test design, test case set-up, data mining, and data mocking for multiple clients.

  • Participate and contribute to quality in all phases of SDLC

  • Ensuring that the testing process adheres to quality standards and best practices.

  • Defect Management - Tracking and managing defects including performing root cause analysis with teams and driving quality improvements.

  • Develop traceability from requirements to defects.

  • Generating test reports and metrics to provide insights to the quality of the project

  • Identifying areas of process improvement and implementing changes to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Ensure all agile teams that you are part of are executing to plan and following best practices and standards.

  • Support the team in issue/defect resolution, investigation & escalation, as necessary.

  • Support test execution on need basis

  • Review deliverables/activities as identified in the test plans for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance.

  • Ensure adequate test coverage for every release.

  • Participate and add value in all agile ceremonies.

  • Contribute to both manual and automated testing effort, including strategically incorporating automated testing into the SDLC.

  • Assess features to identify testing technical challenges, priorities, and risks.

  • Represent the team as Subject Matter Expert

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors'/master's degree in computer science or related Engineering field or minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience

  • 4-5 years of software testing experience within a software development environment

  • Relevant Training and/or certifications such as ISTQB can demonstrate your experience in software testing is preferable.

  • Experience with Agile software development lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with collaborative leadership of small teams

  • Effective at creating and refactoring existing automated test code

  • ASTQB certification

  • Capable crafting relational database scripts (SQL or equivalent)

  • Experience utilizing Agile development tools for project management and bug tracking (ex. Azure,DevOps, Jira, or Rally)

  • Background with healthcare industry and associated technologies

  • Experienced with industry standard processes for test design and test management.

  • Experience with automated UI testing technologies (Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, etc.)

  • Knowledge of the HW domain and the FHB platform will be considered an added advantage
