Job Title – Principal - Systems Administrator
This position will be responsible for managing Incidents, Changes and Problems on Linux, Windows & Virtualization (VMWare/OLVM) Infrastructure and to create and maintain solutions to automate administrative procedures
The Purpose of This Role
This position provides technical leadership and will be responsible for managing and enhancing the infrastructure hosted on Unix, Windows and Virtualization platforms, project delivery, providing technical support and implementing automated solutions to reduce toil.
This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who excel under pressure, have a bias for action, want to gain a holistic view of the IT environment and can work with the best technical subject matter experts across Fidelity.

As a member of the DCS Compute Operations organization, you will play a critical role in assuring production stability across the On-prem Compute environment. Our goal as an organization is to enable our technology/business partners to have the highest availability. Your technical and process expertise will help us ensure smooth operation of the environment.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshooting, monitoring, and driving RCA to ensure the highest uptimes are maintained.
Designing and implementing new solutions and improvements to the resilience of the current environment
Ensure all platforms are secure, working within our security team to ensure that systems are updated as and when necessary, and implementing any urgent fixes/mitigations responding to threats as they arise.
Create and maintain solutions to automate administrative procedures
Provide technical leadership and technical guidance on projects.
Facilitate live outage calls, capturing technical findings, documenting and executing on action items.
Ensuring communications are sent to stakeholders at regular intervals and within expected timeframes.
Monitor team’s effectiveness and work with business partners to improve process efficiency, through automation, when possible.

The Expertise We’re Looking For
8+ years of relevant IT experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field.
Must have extensive experience in the following technologies:
Server Operating Systems – Linux, AIX, Windows
Virtualization technologies – VMWare/OLVM
Intel Enterprise Server level hardware (HP/IBM/Dell)
Scripting and automation – Bash/Python/Ansible
Solid understanding of Networking services, protocols and Storage concepts
Demonstrated experience with system monitoring, Observability and performance tuning
Knowledge of Vulnerability management across operating systems and Virtualization platforms
Architectural-level understanding of IT infrastructure and applications
Highly organized: Ability to track multiple activities, ensuring essential deadlines are met
Exposure to DevOps and Agile practices
Strong understanding of Enterprise ITSM processes
Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
Demonstrated fluency with translating and communicating technical issues to a broad audience, including executives
Certifications in RHEL/ Microsoft/ VMware & ITIL will be favorable
Location: Bangalore
Shift timings: Team members work either of two 9 hour shifts, five days a week on a rotational basis. The shifts are – 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM IST and 02:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST. This includes weekend days and holidays as rostered.
