Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to work with our Risk Workstation (RWS) technology team to design and drive the implementation of high-quality applications servicing the financial industry. You will have the opportunity to work on high value products in the RWS space that support our customers in providing excellent financial solutions.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Must have hands-on Experience in a Senior System Analysis role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline (software development / computer science preferred) required
  • 6 + years of experience working with cross-functional teams developing business and systems requirements, user interface design, data modeling, systems designs and systems interface specifications.
  • Strong exposure to Application design & development across the following:
    • Relational Database (ideally Oracle)
    • REST API & MicroServices development
    • UI technologies & frameworks
    • Cloud infrastructure (AWS in particular would be a plus)
  • Experience with build, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes and tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience of Agile development practices and the value they bring to development teams
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders
  • Financial services experience preferred, ideally in Capital Markets and / or Risk.

  • A track record of mentoring junior team members

The Value You Deliver

  • Analysis support and small development on platforms dedicated to large scale IT transformational projects
  • Working closely with clients, business analysts and software engineers to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Preparing detailed requirements documentation and specifications including use cases, context diagrams, business process flows, etc.
  • Assessing and researching current implementations of the platform and determining the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs.
  • Acquiring and constantly increasing your industry knowledge and subject matter expertise; understanding competitive positioning in the marketplace as well as industry initiatives and vendor solutions.
  • Taking the business requirements coupled with existing architecture to set a technical vision for features and major components and clearly articulating the evolutionary steps to achieve it
  • Working with Operations to plan major infrastructure upgrades, to troubleshoot issues and to tune the environment for optimal performance and uptime.
  • Collaborating with peers and management on process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements, and opportunities to improve our customer's service experience.
  • Participating in code review and unit testing and providing support on issues in non-prod or production
  • Sharing your knowledge across the team.

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

The position aligns to the Capital Markets division of FI Tech – Fidelity Institutional Technology. Capital Markets is the institutional trading arm of Fidelity, delivering brokerage and trading solutions worldwide for institutional and retail customers. This role embeds, in a dedicated capacity, within an agile development squad supporting that squad’s backlog. The squad is responsible for the delivery of both tactical and strategic initiatives and forms part of a larger chapter of similarly devoted squads. The chapter has overall responsibility for the delivery and maintenance of the portfolio of applications supporting corporate actions for the Fidelity Institutional (FI) business
