Senior Data Analyst
The Role
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will work closely with business and technical teams to drive the creation of scalable and documented data design solutions. They drive adoption of enterprise and industry standard modeling methodologies. They partner with project teams to deliver practical & resilient data model designs that meet business needs and are capable of easily adapting to future business requirements.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Requirements and Analysis:
- Engage with business and technology partners to understand the business requirements, analyze data gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Assess objectives, use cases, data requirements and specifications documents created by other analysts
- Analyze and resolve major data issues that arise during the course of projects or in production environments
Data Design:
- You are an experienced enterprise data modeler who can define conceptual and logical data models, with strong definitions, to capture organizational data needs across multiple subject areas
- Create physical design from logical data models for different types of systems such as operational systems, data warehouses, data lakes and others
- Research to identify effective data designs, new tools and methodologies for data analysis
- Document and present database solutions to product partners for approval.
- Promote common data API adoption and reuse.
- Map Technical terms to Business terms in data catalog tool.
Technical Leadership:
- Ensure technology decisions align with enterprise standards and strategy.
- Collaborate with DBAs, architects, subject area owners to create scalable data models.
- Find opportunities to utilize enterprise data model for new projects to minimize work and data redundancy
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience with data design, analysis and development. Development experience weighted towards PL/SQL and data loading tool/concepts.
- Demonstrated experience in the following areas: Data API design and implementation, PL/SQL, data warehouses, data modeling and data profiling.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrable experience with SAP Power Designer or similar data modeling tool.
- Proficient analytical and problem solving skills
- Solid understanding of the database development process including analysis, design, coding, testing, problem resolution and planning, and full competency in all relevant coding environments, languages, tools, and platforms
- Good interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical associates in the company
- Proven interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate optimally at all levels of management and peers.
- Experience working in cross-functional agile development teams.
- Understanding of Financial Services.
The Team
Asset Management Technology is seeking a Senior level candidate in the analysis and data modeling organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading analysis and data modeling across different projects with diverse scope and complex business and technical requirements in a highly integrated data environment. This role requires working under experienced leaders, for achieving organizational strategic data goals. You must be comfortable working in a fast paced and highly ambiguous agile environment where there is a focus on timely delivery of data models and other data artifacts.
AM Tech is a global organization, with technologists located across the United States, London, India, and Ireland. The team supports a broad range of functions within the Investment Management and Advisory domain, including Portfolio Management, Research, and Trading, by providing reliable, high impact technology solutions.
We are currently working in a hybrid model with some flexibility for remote working. However, Fidelity is gradually transitioning towards a full-time return to the office. We believe this will help strengthen our culture and enhance both the associate and customer experience. At present, this transition is expected from 2027 onwards, with no fixed timeline in place.
