Position Description:

Lead systems analysis projects/programs with diverse scope and highly complex business and technical problems across the business unit. Leads analysis of business systems and/or business processes to identify user needs, document requirements, and address operations, processes, issues, and improvements to accomplish business objectives. Leads clarification and translation of less-technical documentation and systems requirements into highly technical subject matter.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Trains key stakeholders and other constituencies in new systems solutions architecture and implementation. 
  • Leads the distillation and translation of complex customer needs into Agile stories with clear, actionable acceptance criteria. 
  • Confers with team, business partners, and stakeholders in legal, risk, and compliance, to determine problems and data type to be processed for assigned projects or work streams. 
  • Gathers data related to associate experiences, products, and/or services. 
  • Performs systems analysis and reports to detect and disclose meaningful data patterns.
  • Identifies root cause and validates business problems in terms of business and systems requirements. 
  • Defines the goals of the system and devises flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs. 
  • Assesses objectives, use cases, requirements, and specifications documents created by other analysts. 
  • Audits documentation activities on projects. 
  • Assesses diagrams of business processes and system workflows created by other analysts. Develops documentation standards and practices. 
  • Defines project scope and ensures integration with technology platform. 
  • Defines analysis strategy for multi-phase projects across multiple, interrelated subsystems. 
  • Plans and defines strategic direction in collaboration with senior management. 
  • Ensures that project objectives are achieved and traceability exists among specifications, requirements, and objectives. 
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for one or more complex projects. 
  • Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives. 
  • Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects. 
  • Advises senior management on technical strategy. 
  • Researches and recommends new technologies. 
  • Provides guidance, training, and coaching to team members for performance and career development. 
  • Initiates vendor relationships and establishes requirements for negotiations. 
  • Develops, documents, and revises system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of experience performing systems analysis and product management for software and Web applications launched within a financial services environment, using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience performing systems analysis and product management for software and Web applications launched within a financial services environment, using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess: 

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) supporting asset management and 401k recordkeeping services – research and stock selection — in a business domain; performing investment analysis using Style Analytics, FactSet’s, MorningStar’s, or Bloomberg’s research tools; and building PL/SQL databases structures to support portfolio construction — writing SQL queries to extract data and developing PL/SQL queries and Java GUIs for client management reporting.
  • DE researching and developing software and Web applications using AI methods (Natural Language Processing (NLP), Artificial Neural Networks, or Pattern Recognition), Office 365 Graph APIs, and AI experimentation and feedback loop systems.
  • DE in data management of mission critical, enterprise-wide financial data, including support and operations management of data failures and training systems teams on data latency at data integration points, including constructing ETL processing jobs (using Informatica) to load data from multiple sources — vendor flat files, XML, direct database access, and Web Services — in support of data provisioning activities in a transactional database environment.
  • DE executing all phases of the product development lifecycle —  applying design strategy and methodologies; performing requirements analysis and creating supporting artifacts — use case, data flow, and process flow diagrams — using Visio, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint; creating User Interface (UI) designs and prototypes using wire framing tools — Sketch, UXPin, or Invision; and maintaining Information Technology (IT) project plans, using Jira, Confluence, Leankit, and Agile and Scrum methodologies.
