The Role

Join us in shaping the future of Artificial Intelligence & Financial Planning! The Planning Intelligence Squad is seeking an Analyst with both a strong business and systems focused background to help build the next generation of Artificial Intelligence logic associated with financial planning applications.

The Analyst is a core business member working within a cross-functional development squad. This role actively drives strategy through defining the problem, assessing data, analyzing needs, and bringing a client-centric lens to the development of a solution. The position combines big-picture vision with practical execution, making it a phenomenal opportunity for candidates passionate about innovation and financial technology! Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with product managers, artificial intelligence engineers, and data scientists to define project goals and requirements.
  • Conducting thorough analysis of business processes, automated processes, and next best actions using quantitative and qualitative data to prioritize areas for improvement.
  • Using a client lens, translate business needs into actionable plans, ensuring alignment with overall product offering and business goals.
  • Participating in agile development cycles, providing insights and feedback to enhance customer experiences.
  • Working closely with partners to collect requirements, document use cases, and create user stories.
  • Analyzing data, generate reports, and present findings to inform decision-making.
  • Champion customer-centric design principles, advocating for outstanding user experiences.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 8+ years’ professional experience or Masters’ degree with 6+ years is required.
  • 4+ years in financial planning experience, with project management or product development background
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation is a plus
  • Client-facing or distribution experience is a plus
  • Passion for financial wellness
  • Intellectually curiosity and models a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to craft and present successful presentations using PowerPoint.
  • Skilled at building credibility and trust with diverse partners
  • Strong analysis skills, critical thinking, and a collaborative approach of delivering client experiences in a digital world.
  • Strong product development skills, including creating business requirements and understanding system requirements.
  • Strong project management skills and driven to own several initiatives at once
  • Customer-focused attitude and aim to understand our clients and craft experiences to help both clients and advisors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and frequently ambiguous environment.
  • Willingness to upskill and build technical competence in working with software developers and data scientists.
  • Thinks strategically about end-to-end experiences, implementation, and measurement.
  • Defines experimentation learning agendas and success metrics.
  • Enables work across business units and teams to ensure the best client experiences.

The Team

The Planning Intelligence Squad is working to redefine financial planning at Fidelity. Our focus is to shift from analyzing a single goal a client may have, to analyzing the client’s full financial picture. Our work will support a client who is looking to make an informed decision in their financial lives, leading to better outcomes in their future. The squad’s work starts with defining and understanding client trends & behavior using Fidelity’s tools and evolving the financial planning products our clients and advisors’ use. The role is part of the Financial Planning & Advice Product area within the Wealth Solutions Domain. Our Values Include:
