Job Description:

The Role and Team
Fidelity’s Workplace Investing (WI) Digital Shared Services team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Full Stack Engineer to be part of its dynamic, globally distributed team of IT professionals responsible for the development and maintenance of Fidelity’s WI Digital Shared Services platform. A successful Senior Full Stack Engineer on the team participates in all phases of a project lifecycle, including solutioning with our Squad Leads / Product Owners to gather & document business and systems requirements, helping with current state analysis of our systems, helping define our technology solution, and partnering with QA in test case preparation. The role requires great collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the life cycle of the project. Our team focuses on building scalable and innovative solutions that help millions of Fidelity’s customers plan & invest for retirement, manage, and transact from their DC retirement accounts.  You will be part of an agile engineering scrum team working in a fast-paced environment, closely collaborating with business product, architecture, and other engineering teams. 
This position is based out of Westlake, Texas.

 The Experience You Have 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technology discipline

  • 3+ years of software development experience on business critical, enterprise-wide applications

  • Knowledge in Java and .NET coding practices for mid-tier applications that perform business logic and calculations.  

  • Experience in building scalable, server-side enterprise applications, domain logic intensive RESTful APIs

  • Experience with GraphQL a plus

  • Experience with relational Databases a plus

  • NOTE: This role is not for UI/Front end developers.

  • Experience building technology solutions in the financial services industry is preferred.

  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining high-volume transactional systems

  • Experience in developing cloud neutral applications in AWS/Azure 

  • Ability to debug through legacy systems and capture current state to aid with modernization 

  • Actively participates in and contributes to formal reviews of architecture, design, and code 

  • Experience with Mainframe applications a plus

  • Publishes clear, concise, and thorough design documentation

  • Provides support for software releases into production environments

  • Fosters teamwork and collaboration across global development teams, business, and systems partners. 

  • Experience with Agile and Scrum Methodologies

The Skills You Bring 

  • Experience with RESTful API design and development 

  • Experience in design patterns & principles such as OO, DD, SOA, Microservices etc.

  • Experience developing in a variety of technologies including .NET, Java, GraphQL, Spring MVC, Spring Core, Spring Boot

  • Experience developing software utilizing OOA, OOD, and OOP principles & design patterns

  • Experience developing software utilizing relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server or Sybase)

  • Experience with Source Control Systems such as GIT

  • CICD experience using Azure DevOps and Jenkins.

  • An understanding of Micro-services Architecture and domain driven design patterns

  • Developing and deploying 12-factor, containerized (Docker, Kubernetes) API’s to AWS/Azure

  • Collaboration with producer and consumer teams to implement end-to-end solutions in a customer obsessed

  • Experience with Test automation for unit, functional and non-functional testing (SOATEST, SOASTA, Cucumber)

  • Ability to develop technical artifacts based on analysis of business and systems requirements

  • Aptitude to discover/document implementations from legacy systems, C++, Java. .NET, as part of re- platform. 

  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies

  • Detail oriented coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational skills coupled with effective written and verbal communication skills  

  • Must be an organized self-starter with a collaborative work style, and the ability to multi-task.

  • Strong team player and collaborator

The Value You Deliver 
Your primary focus will be to work with business and technology associates on an Agile squad to deliver solutions for Fidelity’s 401k customers. Aligned with business priorities, you will be focused on working on a technology platform suite of 401k domain specific APIs that spread across multiple technology stacks including .NET, Java, SOAP, REST and GraphQL.  The team is focused on a micro-services architecture and domain driven design for deployment to cloud environments.
