Designs and contributes to enterprise-level systems architecture and cloud infrastructure solutions. Provides production support for asset management applications. Leverages Linux, Oracle databases, AWS Cloud, networking concepts, and ITSM methodologies to ensure reliable and efficient operations. Tracks and maintains data availability, batch cycles, application health, incident triage, problem resolution, release/change implementation, cloud support, and issue analysis management, using Datadog, Kafka, Kubernetes, and DevOps tooling. Performs Kubernetes cluster administration and troubleshoot Kubernetes. Tests, maintains, and monitors computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems. Participates in all aspects of production support across the organization -- readiness, availability, resiliency, batches, and infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Defines and leads enterprise-level systems architecture and strategy.
  • Develops and implements cloud-native scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Establishes observability standards for all supported applications.
  • Develops and enhances existing functionalities by supporting highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale.
  • Develops, documents, and revises system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
  • Collaborates with developers to test and push codes or packages out to production.
  • Advises senior leadership on systems engineering best practices.
  • Executes complex technical and functional analysis independently across multiple initiatives.
  • Mentors junior engineers.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple divisional initiatives.
  • Develops innovative solutions to support evolving infrastructure needs.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing, building, and deploying infrastructure and applications in Cloud environments -- AWS and Kubernetes Infrastructure.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing, building, and deploying infrastructure and applications in Cloud environments -- AWS and Kubernetes Infrastructure.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing automated infrastructure provisioning by creating and deploying AWS CloudFormation templates to manage resources (EC2, Security Groups, and VPC), configure dynamic routing with Route53, and implement Auto Scaling for availability and cost efficiency; and automating system administration tasks (backups and health monitoring) and web application deployments using Python and Shell scripts.
  • DE designing and deploying multi-tier web applications on AWS using Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) component (EC2 and Cloud Object Storage (S3)), auto scaling, and load balancer for performance optimization; and implementing serverless functions with AWS Lambda and exposing services via API Gateway.
  • DE implementing and migrating financial service applications using automated configuration management tools -- uDeploy, Puppet, Chef, Docker, and Mesos -- across on-premises and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google); and implementing Cloud Infrastructure for financial service applications, using EC2, S3, VPCs, Elastic cache, and Lambda.
  • DE implementing and migrating micro-services to containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes for scalability and compliance; and creating S3 buckets for seamless data operations.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
