Job Description:
The Role
As a Mainframe/Data Platform Production Support Engineer, you will provide Level 3 support for critical enterprise data platforms and applications that power Workplace Investing. You will troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across Mainframe and distributed environments, with a strong focus on COBOL, JCL, DB2, Oracle, and SQL-based platforms. Working closely with development, infrastructure, and database teams, you will perform root cause analysis, support data integrity, and help ensure the reliability and stability of business-critical systems that are used across the organization.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, data platforms, or production environments.
- Experience supporting Mainframe environments, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
- Strong experience with Oracle and SQL, including data analysis, query development, troubleshooting, stored procedures, and data validation.
- Experience supporting enterprise batch processing and scheduling tools, preferably Control-M.
- Experience supporting data platforms, database-driven applications, and backend services utilizing SQL and REST APIs.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
The Team
The Employer Journey Data Platform team supports the critical data services that power Workplace Investing. As the Level 3 Development Support team, they serve as the primary escalation point for complex production issues across Mainframe, database, API, and batch processing environments. The team supports more than 170 applications, manages the core data platforms that house critical customer information, and helps ensure accurate, reliable data for business areas. This is a highly visible team that partners closely with development and business partners to solve complex issues, support data integrity, and maintain the foundational platforms relied upon across the organization.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
