How does Fidelity help tech associates upskill?

Fidelity believes that a culture of continuous learning is crucial for personal development and helps drive the company forward. When everyone is developing new skills and learning from each other, we can better serve our clients.

To make that easy, we encourage tech associates to dedicate time in their schedules to pursue education and training.

“I can learn about business, AI, and so many other things. That’s a really good thing,” says Venkata, a Fidelity data engineer.

Associates can choose what to focus on during this time. For example, many have earned new certifications, enhanced their storytelling, developed their management skills, and more.

Fidelity provides tech associates with access to a plethora of learning resources, live sessions, and skill development opportunities. We offer courses from third party learning platforms as well as   education sessions created by Fidelity associates. We even offer the Fidelity Technology Learning Center—a collection of tech educational resources meant for technologists to measure and grow their skills.

If you want to grow into a more senior role but need to brush up on specific skills, Fidelity can help you do that. If you want to take on a management role but have no prior experience, you can spend time studying and gaining experience with live sessions.

Tech associates can also connect with Fidelity leaders for mentorship and coaching. We’ll cover that in more detail in the next section.

How does Fidelity develop tech associates through mentorship and coaching?

Fidelity makes it easy to find or become a mentor through a formal online portal. Mentors can help you better understand the company and fintech, enhance your coding or technical skills, or develop leadership capabilities.

Full-time associates can access Career Coaching, a formal career-development program that helps associates figure out where they are in their career development process and provide them with next steps to move forward. Participants get new leadership perspectives, receive objective feedback, and develop a roadmap.

“Fidelity recruiters and coaches are just a ping away—that’s not an opportunity I’ve seen often in my 10 years of experience,” says Venkata.
