Job Description:

Join Fidelity as a Principal Software Engineer - Technical Lead within our Asset Management Technology group. You will play a key role in shaping technical direction, engineering standards, and the delivery of modern microservices and user interfaces supporting investment solutions managing over $950bn in assets.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent and are passionate about continuous learning and technology innovation.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of software design and development experience.
  • Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
  • Experience with Angular or a similar front-end framework.
  • Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.
  • Experience working within Agile teams and delivering incremental business value.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Maven and Jenkins.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Karate, Playwright, Storybook, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Exposure to AWS and/or Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to messaging technologies such as Kafka.
  • Investment Management or Financial Services domain knowledge.

As a Technical Lead, You Will

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineers across the team.
  • Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, automation, testing, and DevOps best practices.
  • Contribute to architecture and design decisions for business-critical applications.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Help establish and maintain engineering standards across the team.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of technology solutions used by Portfolio Analysts and Portfolio Managers supporting more than $950 billion in assets under management across Retirement and College Savings solutions.

You will help enhance a suite of microservices and user interfaces that provide portfolio construction, modelling, and trading capabilities. Working within a modern engineering environment, you will contribute to scalable, resilient solutions while helping shape the future direction of our technology platform.
