Job Description:

SVP, Head of Fundraising & Distribution

Fidelity Investments has a 30+ year history of helping customers and its employees enhance their giving impact through a suite of innovative philanthropic offerings. National Charitable Services (NCS) is a 700+ fully integrated Fidelity business unit that supports customers, companies, financial advisors, and more with their philanthropic needs. This includes providing all services for Fidelity Charitable, an independent 501(c)(3) public charity and the nation's largest grantmaker, granting more than 2.3M grants totaling $11.8B in 2023 alone.

NCS is seeking a senior executive to lead the fundraising and distribution function and be a part of the senior leadership team, contributing to the overall strategic vision and direction of the organization.

Reporting to the president, you will develop business plans, territory goals and provide team coaching and development to deliver on annual goals. You will drive new, innovative and pivotal initiatives to support the organization’s long-term growth strategies. You will be an active business partner and brand ambassador at the enterprise level, uncovering and driving points of collaboration and integration to fully leverage Fidelity’s major distribution channels to drive growth, including retail, institutional, 401k and stock plan services. You will lead our efforts with external advisor and intermediary channels including development and relationship management of strategic firms across RIAs, CPAs, attorney’s and family offices. You will serve as champion and help evolve our industry leading differentiators such as the Advisor Practice Management, the Charitable Investment Advisor Program and more! You are an industry thought leader, spokesperson, influencer and champion of smart tax-advantaged giving strategies.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Leadership:

· Form strong networks of strategic senior-level partnerships throughout the Fidelity enterprise and the industry

· In partnership with Service Delivery, craft and deliver an end-to-end advisor service experience that delights our intermediaries, their associates and clients

· Serve as the “voice of the customer” for broader business objectives requiring both functional and business knowledge and expertise

· Drive comprehensive strategies and policies to drive business development and growth.

· Balance need to achieve fundraising goals with long-term business value and profitability for the organization (eg fee waivers, distribution expense/cost center etc)

Retention and Risk Mitigation:

· Ensure proactive identification of retention risk factors. Develop and carry out departmental strategies to mitigate those factors.

· Provide input and direction for complex new and re-bid situations and other risk situations with detailed knowledge of competitive environment.

· Serve as the Executive Sponsor with select number of largest and most valuable firms and clients

Growth and Sustainability:

· Infuse sales culture of excellence and technical proficiency,

· Leverage data and analytics to set goals, measure outcomes and proactively evaluate and review resource allocation and gaps in distribution and lead reorganization efforts as appropriate, represent Fidelity Charitable’s interests at industry conferences and trade shows, including public speaking at industry events and developing a professional social media presence.

Talent Management:

· Lead all aspects of active performance management and development for team of 45 – 50 associates through establishment and monitoring of key measures, regular in-person observations, and compensation planning and role progression strategies. Including mobility within Fidelity Investments.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. MBA, J.D., or equivalent preferred.

· A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience at the senior level including strategic decision making, business judgment, and leadership of large, multi location teams, with multiple stakeholder groups and co-dependencies for success,

· A minimum of 10 to 15 years in financial services, charitable and holistic financial planning, corporate benefits consulting, or administration, and/or institutional client relationship management and business development or related sales industry experience

· Competitor Focus: Ability to quicky decipher changes in the philanthropy sector and from competitors and advise the rest of the senior leadership team on how to respond.

· Data Driven: Deep expertise in implementing concise and transparent metrics and using

· data analytics as a tool for decision-making

· Ability to represent Fidelity Charitable effectively to donors, advisor influencers and other business leaders.

· Collaborative, flexible and adaptive to meet challenges with a winning outlook.

· Interpersonal: high-energy leadership and ability to rally a team to top performance while building loyalty and trust

· Technical Expertise & Consulting Skills: Detailed understanding of IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) public charities and Donor Advised Funds, regulatory laws related to Exempt Organizations and tax-deductible charitable giving, and investment management, including investment management and oversight including private capital and alternative investments.

· Stakeholder management: Identify and team with key internal and external stakeholders to expand distribution.

· Communication Skills: Demonstrated public speaking and thought leadership expertise ability to establish a following of industry leaders.

· Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
