The Role

Do you want to be part of a team working on building a new business in a rapidly growing segment of the market?  We are looking for a motivated and innovative leader who will join our Managed Accounts Fee Billing team within the Fidelity Institutional Managed and Advisory Solutions area.

As advisor adoption of our flagship Fidelity Managed Account Xchange (FMAX) platform continues to increase, we are growing and expanding our critical capability teams to support this increased client adoption of the FMAX platform. This role will be focused on enhancing the fee-billing processing and financial controls necessary to support business growth and ensure accuracy of fees associated with the FMAX platform and will require collaboration across cross-functional and cross-enterprise teams including Billing, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology and Operations.

As a Squad Leader, you blend product development, leadership, and financial services expertise with a passion for delivering results. You are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities.  In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to complete specific product features lead.  You will ensure alignment on the “what” and “when” work that is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog.  You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Owning the end-to-end management of driving a roadmap, aligning priorities, conveying vision, and articulating an end-state billing experience that supports the FMAX platform.

  • Delivering on Squad Leader responsibilities such as translating business objectives into strategy and approach, prioritizing backlogs and sprints, defining the business process and KPIs, and keeping partners advised of plans and progress.

  • Demonstrating an agile mentality in partnership with Product Area Leader and peer Squad Leaders to achieve broader business objectives.

  • Ensuring the platform enables scalable development and management of FMAX billing capabilities.

  • Collaborating and coordinating with Chapter Leaders, Scrum Masters, Engineers, and UX designers and enabling squad member growth, development, and learning

  • Support the case and rationale for new features and innovations.

  • Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.

  • Partnering with key vendors and team members to deliver integrated solutions.

  • BA / BS

  • 8+ years financial services experience

  • Series 99 or equivalent (or must acquire within 6 months of getting role)

  • A balance of technology and non-technology skills to fully appreciate the broad needs of our clients.

  • Ability to think strategically and work with colleagues across Fidelity to develop and resource multi-year plans.

  • A strong focus on execution and identify, communicate, and remove impediments to progress.

  • Capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building strong teams.

  • Continuously improve and encourage an Agile way of working.

  • Jira and Jira Align experience preferred.

  • Grasping sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise Epics and Stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria.

  • Creating Product backlogs and roadmaps

  • Intellectually curious and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring and coaching.

  • Interpersonal and influencing skills are critical along with a proven track record of successfully engaging with all levels of management across multiple business units.

  • Managed accounts experience and investment product knowledge is preferred.

  • Understanding of billing and accounting concepts is a plus.
