The Select Market Relationship Management Team Lead (SVP, Group Manager) has senior management accountability for a multi-state book of business of Workplace Investing Select Market corporate client relationships! Primary responsibility is the effective leadership of approximately 10 Vice President, Managing Directors (MDs) to ensure the satisfaction and retention of 100+ corporate client relationships with over 500,000 individual participants and approximately $75-100B in assets under administration. The SVP, Group Manager is responsible for a portfolio of multi-product client relationships including the following services: Defined Contribution, Non-Qualified Plans, Defined Benefit, Equity Compensation, Health Savings Accounts, Managed Accounts, a portfolio of Health Solutions (including Health & Welfare administration), Self-Directed Brokerage, Workplace Consulting and Emerging Products offerings (ex: Student Debt, Workplace Giving).

This position involves extensive and ongoing client contact with senior level client decision makers (CFO, CEO, CHRO, SVP of HR) of existing and prospective customers. Effectiveness in the role requires superior executive presence, benefits and financial services acumen, and consultative sales skills. The SVP, Group Manager is responsible for developing and driving the overall business strategy for their team and client book of business in order to maximize business results. Focus areas include client retention and loyalty, revenue growth, product and services adoption and relationship risk mitigation strategies. Additional important management responsibilities include associate development, performance evaluation, compensation planning and hiring. The SVP, Group Manager is also a Supervisory Principal responsible for compliance oversight for all registered representative direct reports.

Expertise and Skills you Bring.

  • Accountable for retention, loyalty, satisfaction, and relationship growth of client book of business.

  • Provide focused leadership, motivation, and support for MD team to deliver consistently strong, balanced scorecard results in alignment with client objectives and Fidelity priorities.

  • Influence appropriate service model for clients based on their stated goals and objectives, as well as, their economic contribution to Fidelity.

  • Improve service delivery and advance individual client action plans to meet key business strategies and overall business unit objectives.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships (along with MD) across multiple client constituencies including HR, Treasury, Legal, and Procurement.

  • Leadership and support for all client re-pricing, renewal, and competitive rebid activity on team including strong collaboration with the MD and Rebid AE on all retention activities.

  • Provide leadership across internal support organizations to provide cross functional accountability for client retention and loyalty.

  • Engagement with internal business leaders in joint planning and client strategies to deliver upon desired outcomes.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prevalent regional and national consulting firms representing Fidelity and client points of view for negotiations and ongoing relationship support.

  • Serve as Executive Sponsor for key client relationships including largest clients, clients with significant service escalations and clients requiring uptiering relationships based on risk mitigation plans.

  • Serve as functional liaison for the Select Market relationship management team effectively representing client and organizational interests with senior leaders across Fidelity.

  • In cooperation with SVP, Select Market Segment Lead, develop strategy and goals for the organization that produce year-over-year profitability.

  • Identify personal development objectives with each MD and support execution of plans to continually build competencies and skill sets to deliver outstanding business results.

  • Work closely with each unique associate to identify strengths and opportunities while leveraging best practices of existing talent.

  • Coach and mentor to provide continued career development and evaluate performance.

  • Provide leadership to build an empowered, diverse and inclusive team and segment culture.

  • Work in cooperation with staffing organization to develop desired proficiencies and experience to acquire the best and brightest talent for the organization and maintain.

  • Proactively cultivate relationships with desired organizations (internal and external) to produce and maintain a robust talent pipeline.

  • Ensure that team is compliant with all appropriate rules and regulatory requirements.

  • College degree required.

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

  • Institutional client management and growth experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 years management experience required.

  • Complete series 7, 24 & 63 exams within 90 days of hire.

  • Strong demonstrated negotiation skills spanning complex financial and service delivery related topics, both internal and client facing.

  • Proven ability to navigate and influence executive level business leaders, both internal and client facing across multiple functions and businesses.

  • Strong revenue management and overall financial acumen.

  • Ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities, balancing the needs of the client and the organization.

  • Tangible competitive spirit with determination and motivation to win.

  • Proven leadership, coaching, and career developments skills with a mix of tenured and new professional MDs.

  • Demonstrated consultative sales skills.

  • Expert presentation, meeting management, and communication skills
