Engagement Strategist Job Description

The Role

As an Engagement Strategist, you blend deep expertise of Fidelity’s Workplace Investing (WI) employee experience with a passion for delivering participant engagement data and insights to plan sponsors. You analyze a combination of retirement readiness, financial wellness, and engagement data to build a comprehensive story that demonstrates the breadth of Fidelity’s value proposition. You help pinpoint additional opportunities to deepen participant interactions and plan sponsor relationships with Fidelity.

You are an extended member of the WI client service team, meeting with plan sponsors annually or semi-annually, depending on client complexity and assets (asset size ranges between $300M-$2B). You collaborate with Managing Directors and Communications Consultants to develop a prescriptive engagement approach tailored to clients based on their goals, plan design, and employee behavior. The solutions you propose primarily involve a combination of WI Communications & Education (C&E) related products and services with the potential for custom opportunities. Your consultative engagement will elevate Fidelity’s C&E offering, drive adoption of products and services, deepen participant interactions, and help increase overall client satisfaction and retention.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses preferred (or must be attained within 90 days of hire)

  • 7+ years communications consulting, benefits consulting, B2B marketing, learning & development, or benefit sales experience

  • Proven success building relationships and influencing external clients and internal business partners

  • Ability to analyze participant behavior and retirement readiness metrics to illustrate the value of Fidelity’s multi-channel WI employee engagement programs (Financial Wellness, NetBenefits, proactive and reactive communications outreach)

  • Ability to identify opportunities for clients to adopt Fidelity programs, products, and services that improve the employee experience and elevate their benefits offering

  • Outstanding storytelling skills across various media/channels, with the ability to distill data into insights that resonate with plan sponsors

  • Strong public speaking and consultative techniques to engage your audience in a compelling way while demonstrating Fidelity tools and products

  • Natural curiosity and desire to understand what makes each plan sponsor unique

  • Proficient at “reading the room” and adjusting your story to focus on content that resonates most with your plan sponsor audience

  • Ability to provide clear next steps to clients and service team members to bring the engagement strategy you develop to fruition

  • Ongoing appetite to learn about existing and new Fidelity products and a desire to participate in department and cross-functional initiatives

  • Ability to work independently while prioritizing clients and competing demands for your time

  • Strong subject matter expertise with defined contribution plans, Fidelity’s Financial Wellness offering, and/or emerging products and services

  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time

The Team

The Engagement Strategist Team is part of the WI Communications & Education organization within Fidelity’s Large and Select Markets (client asset size between $300M-$2B). Each Engagement Strategist is aligned with 13-15 Managing Directors across ~150 clients. As an extension of the service team, Engagement Strategists meet with plan sponsors annually or semi-annually, depending on client asset size and complexity. Building credibility with Managing Directors is a critical success factor, as is working collaboratively with Communications Consultants.

The base salary range for this position is $85,000-$144,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.

We offer a wide range of benefits to meet your evolving needs and help you live your best life at work and at home.  These benefits include comprehensive health care coverage and emotional well-being support, market-leading retirement, generous paid time off and parental leave, charitable giving employee match program, and educational assistance including student loan repayment, tuition reimbursement, and learning resources to develop your career.  Note, the application window closes when the position is filled or unposted.
