Job Description:

The Role

As a Stock Plan Services (SPS) Group Squad Lead, you will blend Stock Plan expertise with a passion for delivering results and driving scale and efficiency across the organization. In an agile format and structure, you will partner with other leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions and roadmaps, set the mission, and bring the squad together to execute on specific results while ensuring respective products or services are available, stable, performant, and supported when required and related cost and maintenance is managed. You will ensure alignment on the “what” and “when” of the work performed by the squad through ongoing planning and prioritization, to enable the squad to work iteratively, innovate when appropriate, celebrate successes, and learn from failures.

You will also align a unified product backlog to business strategy and outcomes, in partnership with technology, and other functional leaders as needed. You will manage squads that deliver on critical initiatives and products across the SPS Mainframe Recordkeeping platform. You will have oversight of the full lifecycle and manage dependencies, determine how to organize scrum teams and create clear accountability at the product level. You will maintain a comprehensive view of the initiatives and products and understand the complex ecosystem underlying delivery. You will also be committed to maintaining and developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.

  • Managing Squad Leaders who are focused on delivery of the product capabilities and features.

  • Defining, refining, and communicating the team's mission to squad members and business partners to empower and rally support.

  • Anticipating, discovering, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as the voice of the clients and guide execution of the squad.

  • Measuring performance through established critical metrics and deliver agreed upon business, technology, and people results.

  • Partnering with technology and infrastructure teams for planning and managing upgrades.

  • Inspecting and evaluating progress while removing impediments for your squads.

  • Defining, presenting, and evaluating results against agreed acceptance criteria.

  • Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.

  • Ensure a consistent, clear set of standard delivery routines based on stage of product lifecycle including contributing to quarterly reviews and planning.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 10+ years of deep technical and functional experience and must possess high level analytical and coaching skills

  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in a fin-tech focused company

  • Experience working with IBM Mainframe teams

  • Knowledge of Stock Plan Services recordkeeping and administration

  • Experience engaging and influencing multiple stakeholders across products/platforms with competing priorities and key dependencies

  • Advanced level of knowledge of multiple disciplines required to perform at a senior level.

  • Experience managing technology platform resiliency and security related activities such as Audit, Disaster Recovery, etc.

  • Familiarity with modern test-driven development, CI-CD and DevOps practices.

  • Experience working on platform modernization

  • Consistent track record of developing and coaching talent

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred

  • Financial services experience preferred

  • Agile experience preferred

  • People management experience preferred

  • Ability to take a data-driven approach to understanding client needs, translate strategic goals into action, and prioritize to enhance value delivered

  • A continuous improvement approach

The Team

Stock Plan Services provides companies with outstanding administration for their equity compensation programs, including stock option, restricted stock, employee stock purchase, stock appreciate and performance plans. SPS Product Development supports the business and technology work streams that deliver against approved initiatives including new products for emerging markets and improvements to existing products.

You will work in partnership with the Product Area Leader, development squads, Chapter leaders, and your key partners to define the highest priority work. While promoting agile and demonstrating the Fidelity leadership principles, you will promote and sustain an innovative agile culture.
