Job Description:

Principal Data Modeler – RDBMS/DATA WAREHOUSING/OLAP/SNOWFLAKE/CLOUD
The Role

As a Data Modeler, the candidate will collaborate with collaborators and multi-functional teams, Architects, Tech Leads and senior development resources across our team, as well as other technical and business collaborators across the organization in a fast paced agile environment to understand data requirements and design appropriate data models that align with business needs . The candidate will also collaborate with business, technology and architecture teams across the company to design and develop our next generation data platforms using traditional/brand new/Cloud technologies, open source frameworks and cloud services.  you will be responsible for contributing to the overall effort around defining the domain and data capabilities by analyzing business requirements, and developing solutions for the projects delivered by the Fidelity Wealth Technology Engineering team. 
•    Strong execution skills in a fast-paced environment using agile methodologies
•    Ability to collaborate and partner with business domain leads, data scientists, product owners, enterprise architects and other functional leads to deliver world class data solutions.
•    Define the overall data model for the Applications in the business unit, a data warehouse approach, and how data is structured, designed, and/or accessed
•    Data modelling, Architecting, designing and helping engineering teams to build and support critically important platforms in data areas. (Databases, data marts, Datawarehouse, Cloud data warehouses)
•    Contributes to standard practices for problem-solving approaches, tools, and processes. 
•    You will Analyze and manage technology cost drivers to ensure efficient scale and support of OLTP/OLAP capabilities including public cloud data technologies.
•    Exploring new technology trends and demonstrating them to simplify our data ecosystem.
•    Driving Innovation and guiding the teams to implement solutions with future thinking.
•    Collaborating with internal and external teams to deliver technology solutions for the business needs
 

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
•    Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required.
•    9+ years of data modeling experience
•    Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design appropriate data models that align with business needs
•    Govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models.
•    Experience with data modeling tools such as Power Designer
•    Expertise in data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models –dimensional and data vault
•    Extensive hands-on data modeling ( Dimensional Modeling) , architecture and development experience on data integration patterns, relational and NoSQL databases, Event driven architecture and microservices.
•    Expertise with Dimensional Modeling – Star Schema, SCD etc.
•    Hands on experience on Dimensional Modeling, Snowflake Modeling, Data vault Modeling 
•    Enterprise scale expertise in data analysis, modeling, data security, data warehousing, metadata management and data quality.
•    Evaluates databases and data models for inconsistencies and variances, ensuring data is represented correctly.
•    Experience with data warehouses and big data platforms, Identify and resolve data model performance issues to optimize database performance and enhance overall system functionality.
•    Hands on experience in building data solutions using external cloud (e.g. AWS) data applications and capabilities. Ability to evaluate, prototype and recommend open source and vendor technologies and platforms. 
•    Demonstrated technology and personal leadership experience in architecting, designing and building highly scalable data platforms.
•    Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery technologies.
•    Ability to effectively articulate and present ideas / technical design to appropriate audience.
•    Innovation Attitude and Creativity
•    Possess knowledge and understanding of specific Databases and languages: RDMBS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake), Python, AWS (Glue, Lambda, SNS, SQS), Data orchestration technologies – ETL/ELT (Control-M, Snaplogic)

The Customer Data and Marketing Technology group within Fidelity Wealth organization is seeking a Principal Data Modeler to enable our application and data engineers to build and maintain large scale data processing systems for analytical and operational use cases. In this role, you will lean on a variety of experiences and technologies to develop innovative solutions, focused on the enablement of customer and prospect data attributes to drive solutions across the enteprise. This position is a critical element to delivering Fidelity’s promise of creating the best customer experiences in financial services.
