Job Description:

Vice President of Contracts

In this role you will provide counsel within Fidelity’s Large/Select market, while managing a team of professionals that negotiate diverse types of service and transactional documents with our employee benefit prospects and clients. You will be a highly visible leader on the Workplace Investing (WI) Contracts Team. You will deliver a best-in-class experience as you partner with a dynamic and collaborative team of highly skilled colleagues in Sales, Relationship Management, Operations, Finance, Product Management, Compliance, Finance and Corporate Legal to reach desired business goals of Fidelity, while mitigating risk.

The Team

We are an organization of professionals located across the United States who own the contractual framework for client trust and recordkeeping service agreements with large/select plan sponsors. We are client-facing associates who collaborate with internal business partners in all phases of the contracting process. We strive to build strong client relationships both internally and externally and provide best in class service throughout the contracting experience.

The Expertise You Have

  • Excellent leadership skills with a focus on hiring, developing and mentoring to enable a highly successful and engaged contracts team
  • Expertise in drafting, reviewing and negotiating sophisticated, non-standard agreements and handling of pre-sale, competitive negotiations in support of sales and client experience goals
  • Keen knowledge of retirement and health plan products, services and the laws and regulations that apply to them (ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, HIPPA, data privacy laws etc.)
  • Identification of legal, regulatory and business risk, in concert with business partners, and proactive outreach and education regarding process efficiencies
  • Key contributor to the Contracts management team and a vocal representative on initiatives that improve Fidelity's ability to formalize its client relationships
  • Top-quality presentation, interpersonal and diplomacy skills, including ability to simplify complicated issues and build consensus among competing interests
  • Minimum of 10+ years of shown experience
  • Requires a four (4) year college degree, JD strongly preferred

Fidelity’s working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
