Position Description: 

 

***Applicants are permitted to work remotely from an at home work site. Must reside within commuting distance of Charlotte, NC.*** 

 

Implements the next generation of Cloud-based Master Data Management (MDM) platforms to provide enterprise-wide and cross-business views of data (optimized for cost and performance). Provides planning and program management leadership for business case and strategic MDM implementation initiatives. Builds data-intensive applications using DynamoDB, Azure SQL, and No SQL. Develops data storage solutions in the Cloud using Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 and Azure Storage Services. Provides scalable computing capacity using Cloud compute services — AWS EC2, AWS EMR, EKS, Kubernetes and Azure Virtual Machines. Creates architectures to build data-intensive applications using Cloud data services (Reltio MDM, AWS RDS, AWS, DynamoDB, Azure SQL, and Azure Cosmos DB). Performs and delivers current state analysis, industry research, vendor assessment and selection, and business case development including financials, roadmaps, operating models, and resource needs. Collaborates and partners with business domain leads, data scientists, product owners, enterprise architects, and other functional leads to deliver world class data solutions. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Architects, designs, and builds highly scalable data analytics solutions. 

  • Establishes repeatable process and templates for MDM implementations as new MDM subject areas are instantiated. 

  • Collaborates closely with business, implementation, data stewards and support teams to provide oversight, standards, direction, and mentorship. 

  • Provides leadership and mentorship for MDM or Data Quality (DQ) leading practices, governance, standards, and conventions. 

  • Establishes data architecture solutions for the architectural vision and roadmap. 

  • Partners with Cloud and security resources to ensure compliance with data security and privacy mandates. 

  • Researches and recommends new and emerging MDM or DQ technologies, methodologies, and standards. 

  • Provides architecture leadership to modernize the MDM COE Practice with industry trends and future proof strategy and practice. 

  • Establishes industry best practices, perform research on industry trends, and establishes standardized MDM practice artifacts and templates for full MDM Life cycle management in collaboration with Data Governance (DG), MDM architects, business, and agile planning office. 

  • Provides thought leadership and collaborates across the enterprise to standardize best practices and templates for successful MDM implementation. 

  • Defines architecture blueprints and standards for MDM and Cloud-based SaaS data solutions. 

  • Evaluates, prototypes, and recommends emerging Cloud data technologies and platforms from open source or vendors. 

  • Implements standard data management methodologies — data integration, security, warehousing, analytics, quality, and metadata management. 

  • Architects modern data integration frameworks, highly scalable distributed systems using open source and emerging data architecture designs and patterns. 

  • Partner effectively with technology business partners across the firm; analyzing cost and performance in a data solution or pattern and recommending improvement for optimization. 

  • Supervises or oversees the work of software engineers/developers, technologists, analysts and other engineering and scientific teams in line with software development goals and organizational objectives. 

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Vice President, Architecture (or closely related occupation) leading, architecting, designing, and building highly scalable data solutions, including MDM solutions and security reference data management, using AWS, Reltio MDM, and Spring Boot.  

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Vice President, Architecture (or closely related occupation) leading, architecting, designing, and building highly scalable data solutions, including MDM solutions and  security reference data management, using AWS, Reltio MDM, and Spring Boot. 

 

Skills and Knowledge: 

 

Candidate must also possess: 

 

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) recommending data standards, Master Data Management (MDM) solution architecture, and enabling processes for data governance practices; and performing architecture and delivery of MDM, data integration, and system integration solutions using MDM Reltio, AWS RDS, Kafka event streaming, and APIs. 

  • DE establishing project cadence and providing technical and functional leadership by tracking progress and helping to resolve technical impediments using JIRA or JIRA Align; providing project leadership and direction on one or more programs and ensuring quality of deliverables, timelines, and budget; and providing process guidance and architecture for data integration, quality, and governance using MDM Reltio, data quality tools (IDQ), and data governance tools (Collibra). 

  • DE performing technical analysis, implementation approach planning, and validation for MDM solutions, using MDM Reltio; analyzing use cases, requirement specifications, and architecting modern data integration frameworks for highly scalable distributed systems using open source and emerging data architecture designs patterns using SnapLogic and Kubernetes; and building scalable and performant data solutions (OLTP, MDM, or data warehouse) on-premises, in public cloud (AWS), and in hybrid Cloud. 

  • DE guiding the team on requirements gathering, performed solution architecting, outlining use cases, and functional specifications to help solve complex business and technology issues using agile methodologies.
