Position Description:

Leads initiatives with diverse scope and complexity while acting as the primary interface between end users, product management, and the systems organization. Collaborates with business partners to gather and assess complex business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. Works with business practitioners in defining analytical approaches to solve business requests. Assists with data model reviews, coordinates and executes user acceptance testing, and provides instructions and guidance to business partners and data users on Master Data Management (MDM) policies and procedures. Provides technical expertise for new product development initiatives, including performing analysis to determine impact of initiatives on business functions and resources. Crafts and implements tests that address business needs and ensure the delivery of solutions to end users. Plans, tracks, and manages Agile software development projects using Jira and Confluence. Supports the enhancement of performance and attribution capabilities in the product area. Calculates daily transaction-based attribution at the holdings level and top-level performance for use by various consumers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Solve business requests by defining analytical approaches.
  • Recommends solutions and best practices surrounding data issues.
  • Acts as the Point of Contact (PoC) between end users, product management, and systems.
  • Pulls and evaluates the quality of data to determine future consumptions for attribution reports.
  • Build comprehensive diagrams and data visuals for senior leadership.
  • Maintains positive and fully engaged relationships with appropriate level of leaders and business partners across investment operations functions and internal advisors.
  • Analyzes needs of business partners and adapts solutions to the business environment.
  • Reviews and identifies efficiencies and opportunities to streamline business process.
  • Collaborates with business partners to assess complex business requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Product Management  (or closely related occupation) performing business analysis to enable the delivery of data and software solutions in the financial services industry using Agile business analysis methodologies and techniques.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Product Management (or closely related occupation) performing business analysis to enable the delivery of data and software solutions in the financial services industry using Agile business analysis methodologies and techniques.

Or, alternatively, No degree and seven (7) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Product Management (or closely related occupation) performing business analysis to enable the delivery of data and software solutions in the financial services industry using Agile business analysis methodologies and techniques.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated experience (“DE”) translating business strategy into executable software requirements and solutions across highly sophisticated systems in response to changes in investment management strategy, the introduction of new investment products, changes to upstream or interfacing applications, and changing regulatory requirements using Agile business analysis and project management methodologies and techniques.
  • DE designing and enabling the implementation of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and solutions, including liaising with business partners to architect requirements and data governance standards, enhance functionality, develop use cases, automate processes, create and execute user acceptance testing, and deploy business customization using Agile business analysis techniques and data analysis tools including SQL, R, and Tableau.
  • DE designing data solutions for an investment operations function in the financial services industry using Master Data Management (MDM) and security reference databases and applications.
  • DE working with investment products, financial markets, and fund performance using fund performance calculation engines/applications and methodologies for the reporting of financial data.
