Position Description:

Designs, develops, implements, and supports digital applications. Leads cross functional development teams in an Agile software development framework. Delivers innovative solutions that exceed customer’s needs. Adopts modern technologies to build powerful tools and deliver outstanding end user experiences. Leads and develops technology associates. Provides continuous coaching, real-time feedback, and development opportunities. Drives development standards to improve quality, efficiency, and consistency. Works with scrum masters and product owners to plan software releases and coordinate development activities. Collaborates with technology and business partners to provide strategic input into the long-term direction and roadmaps.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Builds a user experience that delights customers, anticipating their needs and matching services or software solutions to support effective decision making.
  • Sets direction across the development teams through hands-on leadership.
  • Leads the development of high performance, responsive user interfaces.
  • Develops and directs software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation.
  • Obtains and evaluates information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, or security needs to determine hardware configuration and preparing reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.
  • Designs, develops and modifies complex and major software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Develops and directs software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Applies learning quickly, being flexible, adapting and striving to excel in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Creates associate growth plan in alignment of their career path and sets up goals to measure success.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Full Stack Engineering (or closely related occupation) coordinating high volume, cross-functional financial retirement benefits Web applications using Agile methodology and JAVA based web framework.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Full Stack Engineering (or closely related occupation) coordinating high volume, cross-functional financial retirement benefits Web applications using Agile methodology and JAVA based web framework.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) coordinating global Web application development teams throughout the Web application development lifecycle; coordinating Agile practices, norms, and ceremonies; and accelerating the overall team's performance and efficiency  in a financial services environment.
  • DE performing Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud development, migration, and governance using Docker, AWS, or data analytics; performing application lifecycle management to measure the team's throughput velocity, efficiency, predictability, software feature delivery lead time and feature cycle time, using flow metrics by monitoring the Agile Health Survey tool; and coordinating and addressing Software vulnerability findings using Tableau scorecard tool and Cybersecurity Intelligence report.
  • DE supporting the full Web application development lifecycle — analysis, design, development, automation, and deployment — using Agile methodologies; maintaining and reviewing application code using Git Stash; performing continuous integration using Artifactory or Jenkins; and performing application self-service deployment and tracking application logs using Splunk Cloud.
  • DE building software automation frameworks and reports in a highly Agile environment using Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD), DevOps, static code analysis, or Test Driven Development (TDD); supporting production and customer incidents by strategizing  global support models across teams and deploying new software; coordinating global Web application development teams in the design, planning, and executing of software application development using online MIRO whiteboard; coordinating team sprint and quarterly software development goals using JIRA or JIRA Align; participating in team’s quarterly surveys using Agility Health tool and addressing organization growth items.
