Job Description:
The Role
The Financial Governance team provides accounting, tax, treasury, and administrative fee oversight for Fidelity Charitable, the sponsor of a national donor-advised fund program. We lead the development of the annual financial statements for the Fidelity Investments Charitable Gift Fund (CGF) and Pooled Income Fund (PIF), as well as management of the external audit process. Our team also conducts various elements of the tax compliance program, including preparation of the Form 990, and coordinates quarterly administrative fee calculations and assessments. In all of our areas of responsibility, we seek to add new value by identifying areas for internal control and operational improvement and serving as trusted advisors to various business partners.
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to be a critical contributor to the overall success of the team. This role will report to the Director of Financial Governance.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree (or equivalent) with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
- 4+ years of proven experience. Public accounting experience is highly desirable.
- CPA professional certification (or progress toward the designation) is highly desirable.
- Strong technical accounting skills, including a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and IRS requirements.
- Highly self-motivated, flexible, and quality-focused individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze trends and leverage analytics to implement solutions and streamline business processes in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-experts and apply knowledge to a variety of circumstances and fact patterns.
- Proven aptitude with common tools in the accounting profession, including the Microsoft Office suite and general ledger applications. Limited knowledge of database structures and how information and data flow in a sophisticated environment is a plus.
- Willingness to take ownership of projects and work effectively both independently and within a team.
Responsibilities
Financial and Tax Reporting
- Compile, analyze, adjust and summarize accounting data to prepare financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and IRS compliance filings (ie. Form 990).
- Perform research and analysis to identify and support the resolution of accounting and control environment issues.
- Project management of annual audit process with both internal and external partners
Administrative Fee Billing
- Supervise the administrative fee billing process and perform quarterly reviews and validations.
- Serve as subject matter expert over the administrative fee billing tool, coordinate pricing exceptions, and perform detailed pricing analyses.
Treasury Oversight and Other Areas of Responsibility
- Coordinate multiple aspects of Treasury administration, including cash flow monitoring, liquidity management, and regular account reconciliations.
- Support improvements in execution and system enhancements that will increase efficiency and/or mitigate risk to the organization, including improving documentation of processes and procedures.
- Work collectively and diligently with key internal & external business partners.

The Fidelity Investments Charitable Gift Fund ('the charity') is a public charity that sponsors the largest national donor-advised fund program. Since 1991, the charity has introduced tens of thousands of donors to the benefits — and increased charitable impact — of using a donor-advised fund to meet their philanthropic goals. The charity is governed by an independent Board of Trustees, which has hired Fidelity Charitable, a business unit of Fidelity Investments, as the service provider of the charity. These services include, but are not limited to, Program Development, Investment Management, Service Delivery, Marketing, Tax preparation, Technology, Compliance and Fundraising.
