The Role

Do you want to make a difference in our customers’ lives and be part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional team committed to improving the value of our technology offering within Fidelity's Core Brokerage Platform and Technology business unit?

We are looking for a Director (Chapter Leader), who will blend deep technology & business knowledge with a passion for mentoring and advancing associates. You will play a pivotal role in leading cloud engineers in shaping & executing the brokerage modernization platform migration to the cloud. You will leverage your technical expertise, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and lead teams on a successful modernization journey & migration of brokerage capabilities to the cloud. You are committed to developing your skills and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role to empower others with that knowledge.

You will be responsible for:

  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans for the platform execution & delivery in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Play a role in advancing the platform roadmap, ensuring it reflects both business needs & alignment with our cloud platform architecture goals.
  • Lead a cross-functional team of engineers.
  • Oversee end-to-end design & development ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of a core & common sustainable platform.
  • Proactively address issues and risks that may affect the successful execution of initiatives.
  • Follow engineering standards to maintain the quality of code & documentation ensuring a supportable cloud platform aligned to our maintenance standards.
  • Conduct retrospectives and implement feedback loops to address areas of improvement.
  • Track key performance indicators/ targets related to platform execution, delivery & adoption.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Must obtain FINRA Series 99 license within 120 days of starting role.
  • Proven record of developing and delivering software.
  • Experience in Java or JavaScript software development and a deep understanding of the software life cycle stages.
  • Passion for leading, coaching, mentoring, managing, and developing people and teams.
  • Proven ability and passion for delivering complex technology solutions and achieving results.
  • Prior experience in SQL RDBMS (Oracle or DB2) preferred.
  • Enthusiastic about engineering excellence, innovation, and empowerment
  • Agile methodologies and financial services experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in AWS preferred.
  • Intellectually curious and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.

The Team

This dynamic group is part of the Account Management & Asset Movement Domain (2AM) which exists under the Core Brokerage Platform and Technology umbrella. We provide the solutions for the brokerage platform for the Customer Account, Money Movement and Transfer of Asset products.

The Director (Chapter Leader) will work in partnership with Product Area Leaders, Team Leaders, Squad Leaders, and other Chapter Leaders to shape & execute the brokerage modernization platform migration to the cloud. We are focused on modernizing and bringing innovative solutions through our platform modernization initiatives. By reinforcing and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors, you evolve and sustain our innovative, agile culture as we execute on our mission.
