Job Description:

The Role

As a Business Analyst with the Customer Solutions Chapter, you will work within the Fidelity Workplace Investing Agile Model. In this role, you will use your strong analytical and problem solving skills to elicit and capture story acceptance criteria, develop and implement business acceptance test plans, and implement solutions to address business needs of medium to high complexity. Successful Business Analysts are highly motivated “self-starters” with a sense of ownership, who are driven to succeed. You must be successful working individually as well as within a team structure.

The Team

You will be a key member of a squad within Workplace Investing working closely with a team of cross-functional, multi-disciplinary, and dedicated squad members responsible for delivering specific business goals.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Basic knowledge (3+ years) of business analyst techniques such as benchmarking, business rules analysis, risk analysis, user stories, user acceptance testing and product documentation.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Mural or similar Agile backlog management tool preferred
  • Good understanding on MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • CSM/CSPO Certification desirable
  • You are a good listener and have strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively facilitate successful client meetings or workshops, and comfort speaking publicly to a broad audience
  • Proven leadership and time management skills to ensure that work is completed on time
  • Strong writing skills as demonstrated in clear, concise, well organized user documentation to maintain standards and procedures
  • Problem solving skills with the keen ability to assimilate new information, draw conclusions and communicate ideas
  • You will keep up to date on agile standard methodologies and trends
  • Positive demeanor and flexible, with ability to adapt to the changing needs of the squad

The Value you Deliver

  • Initiate & lead discovery for Feature/Epic Definition & Key Decision Partners with Squad Leader and Scrum Master to prioritize Epics
  • Ensure Epic/Story artifacts (i.e. use cases and supporting documentation) are updated and available for story execution
  • Write stories and facilitate story grooming/refinement sessions to ensure they meet the Definition of Ready
  • Collaborating with key Business, IT, Legal, Compliance & Risk partners to define product features and monitor trends
  • Establish client meetings to include demos of sprint deliverables and impact analysis results (User Experience Design, Legal, Outside business groups)
  • Engage in organizational readiness activities through the lifecycle of the project to proactively mitigate risks related to product delivery
  • Communicate issues and client feedback to the Squad Leader in a clear, concise and timely manner
  • Participate and /or facilitate the daily Scrums, Sprint Planning Meetings, Release Planning, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives
  • Provide constructive feedback for future process improvements
  • Identify business requirements, document improvement opportunities, share with Scrum Team and at BA Forums
  • Collaborate strategically with the QA team on QA test plan reviews and provides assistance and mentorship to QA with story requirements / acceptance criteria clarifications
  • Perform End to End Business Acceptance Testing in Acceptance Region and ensure the traceability of test cases.
  • Assist either or readiness and deployment activities for each release
