Job Description:

The Chief Privacy Officer will lead the firm-wide privacy strategy and oversight for Fidelity. The role is responsible for leading a direct and matrix organization that ensures US federal, state, and international privacy compliance in a highly regulated and complex business environment while supporting Fidelity business objectives and growth! This includes regulations governing the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of client, customer, and prospect personal information.

The Team

The Chief Privacy Officer is responsible for leading and coordinating the delivery and execution of a comprehensive privacy regulatory program (including Gramm-Leach-Bliley/Reg S-P, HIPAA, US state privacy laws, and GDPR) for Fidelity businesses! The Privacy team is responsible for:

  • Developing and overseeing firm-wide programs to ensure compliance with federal and state and international regulations.
  • Leading cross-firm teams to implement new privacy regulations and supporting business initiatives with a focus on identifying and incorporating applicable privacy requirements.
  • Overseeing privacy-related incident responses, including timely escalation of issues.
  • Developing training and communications for associates to drive a culture of privacy compliance.
  • Liaising with critical collaborators including Compliance, Risk, Cyber and Global Security partners, senior business leaders, internal auditors, and regulators.

The Expertise You Have

  • Deep securities industry knowledge including comprehensive understanding of privacy regulations.
  • 10+ years of privacy or related compliance, legal, or risk experience or comparable experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with law or other advanced degree a plus.
  • Experience in interacting with regulators, including the SEC, FINRA, and state agencies.
  • Strong knowledge or experience regarding privacy related technology including managing technology efforts to support rule implementations and to delivery privacy services.
