Summer internships for undergraduate students

Through our 10-week Fidelity Intern Program, college-level students experience our business and culture—with the opportunity to land a full-time role.

Eligiblity and how to apply

If you’re a current college student who’ll return to coursework following your summer internship with us, you’re eligible to apply. We accept applications from August through mid-November for internships that start the following June.

Types of Fidelity internships

We hire undergraduate interns in eight major skill areas. When you apply, you can indicate the area that’s the best match for you.

Actuary

These roles are for students studying actuarial science or quantitative finance who are analytical and enjoy problem-solving.

Business administration

Good for problem solvers, these roles include marketing and events, communications, and corporate services.

Client relations

Take a client-focused approach in these roles that include financial consulting, customer relationship advocate, account management, and sales.

Human resources

Good for multitaskers, these roles provide a broad, cross-functional understanding of HR, and insight into the foundations of business.

Finance

For students with strong data and analytics skills, these teams provide detailed financial information to the company’s businesses.

Legal, risk & compliance

Put your analytical mind to work in roles that include audit, compliance, technology risk, global security, and more.

Operations

For students with strong problem-solving skills, these teams work closely with clients and business partners to ensure the seamless delivery of Fidelity’s products and services.

University recruiting

Yes, Fidelity prioritizes the talent, skills, and professional development of our future leaders by recruiting both undergraduate and graduate students for a variety of internships, co-ops, and full-time programs.

Fidelity attends several recruiting events throughout the school year. Please refer to events posted at your school’s career center for details.

Summer internship program

Yes, we offer internships and co-ops each year. Please review the internship information on our website and sign up for our Talent Network to receive information about the application window. Your school’s career center will have information on available co-ops.

Yes, Fidelity’s internships and co-ops are paid positions.

Internships are paid seasonal positions that are full-time for the summer months, typically June-August. A co-op is a paid full-time position for a defined period (usually four or six months). Students typically earn course credit for co-ops.

As a Fidelity intern (aka FIDtern), you will work on real-time business projects while learning and developing professionally. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in comprehensive intern events, networking sessions, and a robust learning curriculum that offers meaningful program experiences. Our interns are a vital source of talent, and we welcome our FIDterns to launch their careers at Fidelity!

Interns are assigned actual real-time projects that offer a realistic sense of the work involved in a particular area or position. Interns work with full-time associates, often in a team setting.

We offer internship opportunities in nearly every region; however, opportunities are based on business needs and change according to location and timeframe.

The majority of internships occur in the summer, beginning in May or June. By signing up for our Talent Network, you will be alerted when the intern application window opens.

The Summer 2024 Internship application window is now closed, but please join the Talent Network to be notified of upcoming early career opportunities and Summer 2025 internships.

We also offer internships with our world-renowned investment division. These roles have different eligibility requirements and the application windows vary.
