Senior Frontend Engineer

The FFIO Technology team is seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer with a strong frontend focus to design and build modern, high-performance user interfaces for next-generation pricing platforms in the cloud. This role is part of a multiyear strategic initiative to modernize and enhance pricing capabilities.
Based in Westlake, Texas, this position will lead hands-on frontend development efforts, define UI architecture patterns, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers. You will play a key role in shaping intuitive, scalable, and accessible user experiences that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on frontend development
Frontend Expertise (Primary Focus)
Deep expertise in modern Angular (v16+), including:
Signals
Standalone components
Zoneless architecture
Performance optimization
Strong proficiency in TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Experience building responsive, accessible (WCAG-compliant) user interfaces
Strong understanding of frontend architecture and design patterns
Experience with RxJS and reactive programming principles
Expertise in frontend testing frameworks:
Jest / ViTest
Cypress / Playwright
Experience building and maintaining reusable component libraries and design systems
Strong understanding of browser performance, rendering, and debugging techniques
User Experience & Collaboration
Experience working closely with UX/UI designers and product managers
Ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive and elegant user experiences
Strong focus on usability, accessibility, and performance
Backend & Integration (Supporting Skills)
Working knowledge of backend technologies such as:
Java with Spring Boot
RESTful APIs and web services
Familiarity with SQL and Oracle databases
Experience integrating frontend applications with backend services
Cloud & DevOps (Nice to Have)
Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms
Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker, ECS)
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)
Understanding of 12-factor application design principles

The Team
Fidelity Fund Investment Operations (FFIO) provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. Responsibilities include:
Calculating and distributing NAVs, yields, and distribution rates
Preparing fund financial statements, dividend estimates, and tax returns
Monitoring trade delivery and processing corporate actions
Managing fund liquidity and shareholder transaction flows
The technology team plays a critical role in modernizing these capabilities through innovative, user-centric platforms.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
