The Role
This role conducts complex analysis of the DeFi landscape and translates external research to inform Fidelity Digital Asset’s product strategy. You will exercise strong protocol knowledge and technical analysis, leveraging on‑chain data and analytics tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to present actionable insights that guide critical leadership decisions. In this role, you will continuously monitor the evolving DeFi landscape and lead high‑impact research to drive meaningful innovation within Fidelity Digital Assets.
Protocol & Ecosystem Monitoring
- Own and maintain a structured watchlist of DeFi protocols, tracking metrics, governance activity, risks, and smart contract upgrades
- Identify, escalate and summarize security events, exploits, and ecosystem risks
- Track incentive programs, token distributions, and yield opportunities relevant to institutional participation
- Analyze complex protocol tokenomics, revenue models, and sustainability using on‑chain data and analytics tools
- Present regular updates on ecosystem trends, emerging themes, and competitive developments to guide product strategy
Research & Quant Strategy Support
- Identify emerging DeFi primitives and trends, craft research memos to inform internal stakeholders across digital assets
- Apply advanced analytical analysis to inform new investment and product theses
- Research DeFi protocols and yield generation mechanisms to guide quant strategy development
- Lead support for technical analysis, risk assessment, and market intelligence
- Collaborate with quant developers to create and validate strategy backtest documentation
External Ecosystem Engagement
- Build cross-functional relationships with protocol teams, developers, and ecosystem contributors
- Prepare post‑conference summaries and intelligence notes for internal teams
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and insights using CRM tools
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Technical & Analytical
- Experience working with DeFi protocols such as DEXs, lending, or derivatives platforms
- Interact with on-chain data sources and build custom analytical frameworks alongside quant developers to reach actionable conclusions (e.g., Dune Analytics, DeFiLlama)
- Ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear, actionable insights for the broader team
Communication & Collaboration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated trust and credibility in crypto‑native and/or technical environments
- Present research findings and performance metrics to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Contribute to thought leadership and internal knowledge sharing on emerging DeFi trends and innovations
Experience & Background
- 6+ years of experience in digital assets, DeFi, fintech, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related area
Preferred Skills
- Experience working at crypto‑native organizations or research firms
- Programming or scripting skills (Python, SQL)

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
