The Role

The Senior Contracts Manager, Strategic Contracts within Procurement manages medium scale contracting projects received throughout the organization; and provides expertise and strategic and tactical direction in the development, negotiation, management and administration of complex supplier contract negotiations.

The Expertise & Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree; JD preferred
  • 3-5 years of substantive transactional contract negotiation experience required
  • Ability to handle complex negotiations for Fidelity's strategic vendor relationships with moderate supervision.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve complex contracting issues and develop creative solutions that protect Fidelity and mitigate risk, directly with Fidelity’s external-facing vendors.
  • Attend and represent contracts point of view at stakeholder meetings, interacting directly throughout the enterprise to gain consensus, input, and approvals.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and analytics for assigned projects
  • Participate in initiatives to improve the operational and risk imperatives of the department and team.
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal and diplomacy skills, including ability to simplify complicated issues and build consensus among competing interests
  • Strong strategic, tactical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills, which you will readily use to simplify sophisticated contract and business issues for straightforward, practical analysis and resolution.

  • Work with suppliers and business personnel to identify, research and resolve purchasing related issues, develop corrective action programs, and monitor progress and identify opportunities for improvement and growth
  • Providing the organization with recommendations, modifications, and process improvement opportunities
  • Provides guidance to senior leadership and colleagues as a subject matter expert
  • Leverage experience and knowledge to provide thought leadership with business partners throughout the contracting lifecycle
  • Responds to shifting priorities while maintaining progress of regularly scheduled work

The Team

We are an organization of professionals who own the contractual framework and contracting process for most strategic, procurement-related transactions across the firm. The Senior Contracts Manager, Strategic Contracts will manage the process for medium to large contracting projects, including participating in assessment and strategy meetings, maintaining a book of active work, and facilitating communications received from Strategic Contracts and its legal, risk, and other business partners. The Senior Contracts Manager will lead the process of analyzing contract issues aimed to identify and mitigate risks and optimize value to Fidelity. The Senior Contracts Manager works independently on both standard and non-standard contracts.
