Job Description:

Reporting to the Head of Fidelity Labs, the Managing Director is responsible for leading a new venture business within Fidelity’s venture incubator. This business leader will be responsible for a digital asset–focused technology platform, building institutional-grade blockchain, crypto, and tokenization capabilities that expand Fidelity’s participation in the on-chain economy.

This role brings together the demands of building a category-defining crypto business with the backing, governance, and operational rigor of a Fortune 100 company. The Managing Director will own overall business performance and direction, leading strategy, execution, and outcomes across product, engineering, go-to-market, compliance, and partnerships.

The Managing Director will lead an established and growing team of technologists, product leaders, sales, marketing, and customer success professionals. This role includes defining long-term product vision and near-term execution, shaping go-to-market strategy, overseeing revenue-generating initiatives, and ensuring the business offerings meet the security, regulatory, and risk standards required for institutional adoption. Success requires close partnership with internal Fidelity stakeholders and external ecosystem participants, with a strong bias toward delivery and measurable impact.

THE EXPERTISE YOU HAVE

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership across venture building, product management, digital assets, or general management roles.
  • Senior leadership experience scaling a startup or high-growth business, with prior accountability for business outcomes and strategic direction.
  • Demonstrated depth in digital assets, blockchain technology, crypto markets, or tokenized financial products, applied in real-world, regulated environments.
  • Clear ownership of revenue, P&L, or comparable commercial responsibility for a technology or financial services business.
  • Proven track record of building, launching, and scaling products or platforms within financial services, fintech, or crypto-native organizations.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. and global regulatory frameworks affecting digital assets, including custody, trading, transfers, security controls, and data protection.
  • Experience operating within, or in close partnership with, large regulated financial institutions while delivering innovative products to market.

THE SKILLS YOU BRING

  • Ability to translate complex blockchain and crypto capabilities into commercially viable products that drive adoption and revenue.
  • Hands-on leadership style; sets direction, makes decisions, and builds strong teams in competitive technical and commercial talent markets.
  • Experience shaping and evolving business models in fast-moving markets, including platform, infrastructure, transaction-based, and SaaS revenue approaches.
  • Proven effectiveness leading teams through uncertainty, regulatory change, and market cycles while maintaining focus and execution discipline.
  • Judgment to balance crypto-native innovation and decentralization with enterprise-grade risk management, controls, and governance.
  • Clear, credible communicator with technical teams, senior executives, regulators, and partners; able to adjust depth without losing precision.
  • Strong execution bias; defines outcomes, tracks performance, and holds teams accountable to measurable results.

THE VALUE YOU DELIVER

  • Definition of overall business strategy, product roadmap, and go-to-market approach in alignment with Fidelity Labs and broader enterprise priorities.
  • Partner with Fidelity Labs Central Business Operations, legal, risk, and compliance teams to set clear objectives, operating principles, and resource plans.
  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team across engineering, product, commercial, and operations functions.
  • Establish success metrics tied to customer adoption, revenue growth, platform stability, and regulatory readiness.
  • Lead external business development efforts, including strategic partnerships across the crypto, blockchain, and financial services ecosystem.
  • Represent the business internally and externally as a credible, informed leader in digital assets and blockchain innovation.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the Fidelity Labs’ leadership team, helping refine Fidelity’s incubator model and shaping the firm’s long-term digital asset strategy.
