The Role
Fidelity Investments is looking for an experienced Principal Engineer to deliver the next stage in the evolution of our Marketing Technology and Data Platform capabilities. In this demanding role, you will lead platform, capabilities and application design, development, configuration, testing, and support of a complex Customer Data Platform (CDP) ecosystem that is modernizing marketing audience management and cross-channel communications.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Technology
- 10 plus years of overall software engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience in solution architecture design and delivery, with a focus on Marketing Technology and Data Engineering
- Deep expertise in Twilio Segment Customer Data Platform, including platform administration and features such as identity resolution, usage and governance, and functional capabilities like zero-copy linked audience management, activations, integrations, sources (Web, Events, Datawarehouse), and destinations (SaaS platforms such as Salesforce, Adobe, Files, APIs)
- Proven experience integrating CDP solutions across AWS cloud environments, SaaS platforms, Snowflake, and custom applications/APIs
- Experience leveraging CDP for cross-channel marketing activations, including Email, Web, Mobile, and journey-based marketing delivering real time, always on as well batch campaigns and communications
- Strong experience building full-stack solutions on AWS, including Kubernetes, Lambda, APIs provider and consumer, and event-driven architectures, messaging platforms and company frameworks with, with development in Java and Python.
- Strong experience in Snowflake data architecture and engineering, including Data modeling, Creating and managing tables and views, Writing and reviewing SQL queries, Cluster right-sizing, Performance tuning and compute cost optimization for high-volume data processing (tens of millions of records)
- Experience with database technologies such as DynamoDB and PostgreSQL
- Certifications in AWS, Snowflake, or MarTech platforms are a plus
- Experience designing and building solutions with strong non-functional characteristics, including information security, availability, scalability, performance, reusability, and agility
- Leverage AI/ML and LLM capabilities to drive advanced segmentation, targeting, and content optimization
- Skills to prototype and integrate Generative AI solutions (prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings) into MarTech platforms and campaign workflows
- Skills to design and integration of AI-enabled solutions across CDP, orchestration, and activation systems
- Ability to partner with data science teams to operationalize predictive models (propensity, churn, lifetime value)
- Support responsible AI adoption, including governance, data privacy, and performance optimization
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Leadership and Communication
- Excellent communication and articulation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to collaborate with marketing, business, and technology stakeholders, as well as SaaS vendors, to simplify complex concepts and drive alignment on solutions and trade-offs
- Strong presence to demonstrate platform features, capabilities, and solutions to support key organizational initiatives
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an innovative and forward-thinking approach to addressing challenges within complex data and SaaS environments
- Subject matter expertise in marketing segmentation, data, and end-to-end campaign setup and activation across Email, Web, Mobile, and Paid Media channels

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
