Job Description:
The Role
Fixed Income Technology is looking for a full stack developer to join the Fixed Income Investment Tools Development Team. As a member of our team, you will be working with our investment team and interact directly with portfolio managers, quant analysts, traders, and investment operations teams to build new and innovative tools that will support and improve our investment process. These tools are critically important to the work of the investment team in handling risk, adding return, and operating our business. You will be embedded with the investment team as a key technology partner supporting the investment process.
The Value You Deliver
- Design and implement end-to-end, full-stack applications from concept to launch.
- Enhance, iterate, and automate existing end-user applications, and build new tools.
- Streamline the investment process and reduce operational risk through measurement and reporting.
- Support the implementation, launch, ongoing management, and improvement of investment strategies through scalable, repeatable processes.
- Build a strong understanding of the investment domain and share that knowledge across teams.
- Develop constructive, trusted relationships with portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, traders, research analysts, and investment operations, partnering closely with end users to understand and respond to business needs as the business grows.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 5+ years of full-stack development with Angular (TypeScript, RxJS) on the front end and Python (pandas, NumPy) on the back end, with strong object-oriented design and REST API fundamentals.
- Experience designing and building distributed data applications and pipelines at scale.
- Hands-on CI/CD experience using Jenkins or comparable tools, with solid unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices (pytest, Vitest/Jasmine).
- Proven ability to decompose complex business problems into creative, efficient, and scalable solutions.
- Passion for writing clean, testable, readable, and maintainable code with an iterative development approach.
- Excellent verbal, written, and active-listening communication skills, including the ability to clearly document design options and decisions and present to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A curious, self-directed, and results-oriented mindset — proactively asking "why" and probing the value behind each task.
- Comfortable making timely decisions with incomplete information, without sacrificing attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and respond effectively to a variety of competing requests.
- Ability to balance engineering rigor with pragmatic, timely delivery.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies, business workflows, concepts, and processes.
- (Plus) Experience with Excel VBA–based applications and Oracle/Snowflake databases.
- (Plus) Background in financial services or investment management, with exposure to financial data concepts such as returns, risk, and portfolio analytics.
- (Plus) Experience integrating with financial data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Haver Analytics), including API consumption and data normalization.
The Team
Due to the breadth and complexity of the various securities held in Fixed Income funds, our technology must keep pace with changes in investment markets, strategies, and regulations. The Investment Tools Development (ITD) team works directly with investment professionals using a suite of technologies and digital tools to build solutions. Asset Management Technology (AMT) provides worldwide technology and support to all the Investment Management, Research, Trading, and Investment Operations functions. AMT is an integral partner for Asset Management to deliver innovative, scalable, industry-leading investment tools that enable Asset Management to achieve competitive advantage globally.
