Responsible for architecting, crafting, and building highly scalable data solutions, including designing large distributed systems and applications in the Cloud -- Amazon Web Services (AWS). Creates architectures for data solutions using data warehouse, operational data, and data lake design patterns. Conducts technical analysis and develops data models for production, predictive modeling, data analytics, and performance optimization by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques. Architects Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems including Oracle E-Business Suite for finance and accounting, supporting financial reporting and profitability analysis. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures safe and secure treatment of the enterprise, client, and customer data in the public Cloud with legal, risk, compliance, and cybersecurity teams.
- Designs, develops, and modifies complex and major software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
- Communicates and collaborates with stakeholders to design solutions supporting new capabilities, reducing risk, and improving resiliency.
- Resolves technical issues and creates standards and strategies related to finance and accounting.
- Confers with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects.
- Determines system performance standards.
- Works collaboratively with global teams -- business domain leads, data scientists, product owners, enterprise architects, and other functional leads.
- Evaluates data related tools and recommends appropriate implementation patterns.
- Collaborates with stakeholders on evaluations, roadmaps, and best practices for developing and maintaining software products.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Architecture (or closely related occupation) providing data architecture, strategy, automation, and engineering solutions across financial domains, within a continuous integration, deployment, and delivery environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Architecture (or closely related occupation) providing data architecture, strategy, automation, and engineering solutions across financial domains, within a continuous integration, deployment, and delivery environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and implementing operational and analytical applications for finance and accounting on ERP platforms (including Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle Data Relationship Management (DRM)), leveraging data from general ledger, risk and compliance, and profitability domains.
- DE architecting and engineering enterprise-grade data solutions by documenting designs using Confluence and draw.io. tools; and presenting those designs for approval at an architecture review board.
- DE designing scalable data pipelines to move, process, and integrate data, using Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) methodologies, Informatica, and Python; querying and managing data using SQL and PL/SQL; modeling data for operational and analytical purposes, using PowerDesigner and techniques -- Third Normal Form (3NF) and dimensional modeling; and exposing data attributes for analysis using reporting tools (Power BI) and semantic layers.
- DE evaluating, prototyping, recommending, and standardizing scalable data solutions, technologies, and patterns on Cloud service offerings (AWS S3, EC2, or RDS), Aurora, SAAS platforms, and database technologies (Oracle or PostgreSQL).
