We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and modernize our Customer Identity (UID-UCP), in Core and Common Frameworks platform. In this role, you will build, modernize, and maintain the core identity capabilities of our platform to seamlessly integrate with our enterprise-wide Universal ID initiative (UID). You will apply a variety of cloud-native (AWS) technologies to develop innovative frameworks and tools that accelerate feature development on our platform and set us up for long-term success. This position is a critical element to delivering Fidelity’s promise of creating the best customer experiences in financial services.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technology related field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
Desire and ability to learn and implement new technologies
Keen ability to see complex challenges from multiple perspectives, and leaning in to solve independently or with others
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing RestAPI (Spring Boot, Micronaut, etc.), along with app containerization (docket) and deploying (EKS,AKS,ECS, etc).
Experience in managing high volume customer-facing application traffic for API’s
Strong in managing API to database connection management using different database drivers - Relational Databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Elastic search, Graph DB, etc.)
Knowledge of how to develop highly scalable distributed systems using Open-Source technologies
Knowledge of Messaging Technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, SNS, SQS)
Experience with DevOps or CI/CD Pipelines using Maven, Jenkins, uDeploy, Stash, Ansible, etc.
Hands-on experience building highly resilient, scalable, and efficient customer facing solutions on AWS
Hands-on experience in operational database (Oracle, PostgreSQL) is added advantage
Ability to validate, monitor, and solve issues during development, testing, or in production
Ability to work effectively in global teams distributed across geographic locations in an Agile way
Excellent communication skills, both through written and verbal channels
Proven knowledge of AWS via Associate, Professional, or Specialty Certification(s) a big plus
The Team
You will be joining the Core Identity and Frameworks Engineering Delivery Team, with the vision to create the capability, infrastructure and frameworks necessary to accelerate CCDP’s product initiatives and to optimize core capabilities that will enable scalability, efficiency, and speed-to-market for adding new features to the platform. CCDP (UID – UCP) is a critical platform to Fidelity and the impacts delivered via the work that the team does will significantly enable our business partners across the firm to deliver on Fidelity’s promise of creating the best customer experiences in financial services.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
