Position Description:

Creates and provides best practices for DevOps, SecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and infrastructure across the organization. Sets up and maintains CI/CD pipelines in a multi-environment setup to enable fast and reliable software delivery to Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) cluster. Maintains and automates CI/CD for mobile applications, ensuring they go through various code scanners to guarantee reliability and bug-free performance. Writes Amazon Web Services (AWS) Identity and Access Management templates, Jenkins, and Terraform scripts to automate infrastructure. Builds Docker images and sets up custom Kubernetes frameworks to integrate with the current cluster and environments. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates in architecture design teams.
  • Defines and implements application-level architecture.
  • Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
  • Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
  • Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
  • Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.
  • Mentors junior team members.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing application architectures, developing complex software systems, and supporting end to end lifecycles across multiple platforms, using comprehensive documentation and risk management strategies.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing application architectures, developing complex software systems, and supporting end to end lifecycles across multiple platforms, using comprehensive documentation and risk management strategies.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing end-to-end DevOps engineering -- implementing and automating CI/CD pipelines for multi-environment setups, and building and maintaining infrastructure, using Kubernetes, Jenkins, Helm and GitHub; and configuring micro services for secure secret management while ensuring reliable application delivery to EKS clusters.
  • DE providing installation and upgrade for Web applications and infrastructure to development teams on AWS EKS clusters; building and supporting Kubernetes clusters to run across multiple environments (development, quality assurance, and product management); creating namespace and Vault registration for micro service applications; and installing Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates, and configuring domain name system (DNS) routes for hosting applications in internal and public-facing environments, using Python and Helm.
  • DE designing and writing identity and access management (IAM) templates, infrastructure templates, Jenkins pipelines, and Terraform scripts for infrastructure and service automation, using Open Tofu, CloudFormation, and Python scripts; performing log aggregation and monitoring, using Datadog and Catchpoint; building and maintaining data engineering ELT pipelines, using SQL in AWS Aurora RDSServer; and performing disaster recovery and high availability for applications in production, using Helm and Python.
  • DE automating infrastructure in an AWS environment and hosting micro services applications (Web and backend), Salesforce Integration and using Kubernetes frameworks and Docker images to integrate seamlessly with existing environments; and performing yearly audits to ensure compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) regulations.
