The Role
As the Director, University Talent Program Leader, you set the vision and lead execution of Fidelity’s enterprise early talent strategy, including the FIDTERN internship program. You develop how Fidelity attracts, engages, and converts early career talent at scale—directly influencing our future workforce.
You lead a team of 3 plus and work closely with leaders across Talent Acquisition, HR, Finance, Marketing, and business stakeholders. This is a highly visible role that calls for strong strategic thinking, collaboration, and the ability to drive alignment and results in a matrixed environment.
Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8–12 plus years of experience in talent, program leadership, or workforce strategy; early career experience preferred
- Proven success leading large, high-impact programs
- Strong critical thinking and ability to connect talent work to business outcomes
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills with leaders at all levels
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions
- Passion for building inclusive, high-quality candidate experiences
- High level of ownership and accountability
- Set strategy and direction: Define and lead the university talent strategy, aligned to business priorities, workforce planning, and enterprise talent goals
- Drive cross-functional impact: Partner across Talent Acquisition, HR, Finance, Marketing, and business teams to connect recruiting, branding, and hiring into one clear approach
- Own program delivery: Lead the design and execution of the FIDTERN program, ensuring a scalable, consistent, and high-quality experience
- Deliver conversion outcomes: Own the intern-to-full-time strategy and results, building a strong pipeline of early career talent
- Lead and develop talent: Manage and grow a high-performing team, setting clear goals and building capability
- Influence and communicate: Build strong relationships with senior leaders, share insights, and guide hiring and investment decisions
- Elevate the experience: Deliver an inclusive, engaging intern experience that strengthens connection and supports retention
- Manage budget and resources: Oversee program budget and investments, using data to guide decisions and maximize impact
The Team
Enterprise Talent Acquisition attracts and hires talent across Fidelity. The University Talent team builds early career pipelines and partners across the business to meet current and future talent needs. As Director, you lead a key part of this work—ensuring our early talent programs are connected, effective, and positioned to support long-term growth.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
